She has been useful in pointing out to you how reducing corporate tax collections to zero shifts the tax burden to individuals. Tell us about the impact of a tax policy that implements a flat tax.

I agree it was hard to resist at first glance. The Amazon pitch was straightforward. Amazon would create jobs and bring revenue to the city. AOC and others looked deeper into the deal. At the end of the day, city officials, along with dedicated, everyday New Yorkers and their neighbors considered the overall negative impact Amazon would have on their city. This organized effort defeated Amazon's corporate greed, its worker exploitation, and the power of the richest man in the world. Amazon could not handle the rejection and pulled out. The people spoke.
