In Ecclesiastes 10:2 you will read: "A wise man's heart directs him to the right, but the foolish man's heart directs him toward the left." In modern times, there is Dr. Lyle H. Rossiter, Jr. who is a board-certified clinical psychiatrist who has examined more than 2,700 civil and criminal cases in over 40 years and he has written a book titled ""The Liberal Mind". In his book he writes: "Based on strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions, modern liberals relentlessly undermine the most important principles on which our freedoms were founded. Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave." What more can be said, expect, "Now I think I have a better understanding of why liberals are the way they are. How sad!!"

Great post but you are opening the door for some of those irrational liberals to come storming in foaming at the mouth and calling you every name in the book. The only good part is that they don't have a leg to stand on because your post is true.

This "irrational" liberal will tell you that anyone psychiatrist who thinks that all liberals think alike needs a psychiatrist himself. The man wrote a book based on his own anecdotal observations, while never acknowledging that his point of view is getting involved as well.

I have not read the book, but I can tell you that I no more want a paternalistic state than any conservative does, but I certainly don't want businesses or religion making laws that are intended for me to follow, without going through the democratic process. Do we need regulations? Absolutely. Do we need laws protecting the poor/disenfranchised? Absolutely.

I would like to have a conversation with Dr. Rossiter, but, in my decade of working in the psychiatric community, I have only met one psychiatrist I actually trusted.

The scripture has nothing to do with politics, but I understand your confusion. People have been deciding things THEN looking in the Bible for proof. Jesus explained that the Bible was designed so that those folk will ALWAYS find it, but that the truth must be looked for in another way.

I would give more credence to a book about the liberal mind if it were written by a liberal and came to the same conclusions. Science is reproducible, if it is not, it is junk science. Not being a scientist, you wouldn't know that. Here's the thing; there IS no liberal mind, or progressive mind, or conservative mind. Most people believe the way they were raised, who were raised by people who believed the same things. Where and when did it start? Nobody knows. Rational humans can change their minds, if they want to, but resist any changes thus preventing such an occurrence.
