Thank you, I will be interested in your thoughts. Be prepared for someone inviting you to dinner. And be prepared. If you go Orthadox and you take your spouse, warn her NOT to touch any of the men. Not because they do not like touching, you will need to read about it; too long to go into here.

My wife passed in 2009 from breast cancer. I am going as I have friends that are in Israel in a music ministry and they are living with an orthodox Jewish family. Their stories are most interesting and as I have said before that the transition from the old "Jewish" traditions and the new "Christian" traditions seems to absolute. I would have thought that the Jewish way of life would have been brought forward into Christianity and not left behind as is the case. The only thing that is judeo-christian belief is the ten commandments.

For any liberal parasite to enter into a battle of words with a Conservative would be like a soldier going to war without a weapon ....
Their only all to obvious recourse is mindless name calling rants....

I am truly sorry to read of your wife's passing. My sister has battled breast cancer twice. Currently is is fine. My younger sister and my oldest daughter have had benign tumors removed from their breasts. I again am sorry for your lose.

Thank you she had the lobular breast cancer and that is very difficult to eradicate and cure. When they caught it she was already either the highest level of three or the lowest of four. Even with a double mastectomy and chemo plus radiation they were not able to remove the cancer and it spread to her bones. We did have almost 43 years together though.

Are you talking about Duckie? That is my daughter. You had me wondering about my son, he claims technology ignorance when I text him and I have yet to receive a response to an email from him. Now Duckie, she is quite precocious and is interested in quite a few things. Unfortunately, her account was discontinued because of two people complaining. Apparently she asked the wrong person if what they wrote was in English. that led to the other person becoming angry, which led Duckie to tell them that at their age they should be able to write a sentence that is readable with appropriate words and punctuation. Now this really caused a stink bottom line, the individual complained and Duckie is now banned. This is quite all right with me, she was spending more time than she should have on this site. I will let her know that you asked about her and relay your kind complement.

There are several "classifications" of Jews. From the very strict (like me) to those that are "reformed Jews." This site may be of interest, http://www.religionfacts.com/judaism/denominations.htm
It identifies the different movements.

Thank you again for the warm welcome!

Ginnyt: Glad to see you back with us. Since Duckie put Duckie to bed why not give birth to new life, like Upbeat or, something. Gees, I am guilty, along with hordes of others, of trespassing on the feelings of others to a far greater extent that what you have described. I think the grounds for exile were unfair, unless it was a self imposed exile. I recall reading her posts and enjoyed them.

Thank you, I am much better. My kind friend, you have never been unkind. You have been assertive, but not crude or rude.

My daughter, she misses her friends here on OPP. She was always happy talking with the folks here. She just ran into one very touchy individual. I read the exchange, although I had to laugh, it was not even close to an infraction of even common kindness. Oh well, she is happy now hanging with her friends. Plus not long ago she got her driver's license so naturally being a good mother felt that she needed her own wheels. I am sure you remember the fun and freedom of your first car. So, she can now go visit her friends and of course go to school functions. We are now looking for the right prom dress. Thank goodness I know the young man that invited her. One less thing to worry about. Duckie wants a pink dress. We have been to so many places.... and I hate to shop. I wear jeans and a shirt. And only on Saturday can you find me in a dress. So this is painful. Perhaps I will just have our tailor make her dress. It is fun being a mother again. She keeps me thinking and keeps me on my toes!

I never did find out how she came up with the name "duckie". And then the beautiful black horse avatar just didn't jell. Maybe the horse was named duckie.

Duckie was a nickname her biological mother gave her. It was unkind, Duckie has a deep curvature of her spine (she is now undergoing treatment) which caused her to walk with a roll of the hip. Much like a duck waddle. Her walking has improved now that she has the right shoes and a spine support brace. She was also diagnosed as being a "slow learner" among other things when she came to live with us. We had her tested and found that she is dyslectic, so we hired a specialist to help her in learning to read and write. Thanks to the tutor, she was placed in her proper grade level of 10 and is a 3.8 gpa. She came to us early December and has blossomed! Her avatar. I do animal rescue and I also own horses. She loves to ride and she dreams of owing her own Arabian. We recently rescued a horse like the one she uses as an avatar who is very pregnant. I think that Duckie prays each night for that horse and if I would allow it, she would sleep in the barn. She is quite the survivor and a real blessing to us!

Good for her. I have always loved horses from my youth which by the way is looong gone. Arabians are the most beautiful of all of the horses as far as I am concerned although others will argue that part. They also have a very strong spirit about them and that sounds like duckie. Good girl tell her to hand in there. One of my daughters was dyslectic and I can remember she had the roughest of times. We sent her to a Christian school and when she came home she started on her homework and we all took turns helping her to remember what had been read. This would go on until bedtime with my wife, me, our son and our older daughter. Each would take a turn until we got frustrated and then the next one would step in. She is now married and has two beautiful sons whom I love dearly.

Your daughter is an inspiration; and a reminder that given a chance, the young can not only survive, but prosper.

I do not remember seeing anything that Duckie said that merited a ban. If what I read got her banned there are a truck load of liberal on here that should be banned. Their only recourse for a debate is beating their talking points to death or attacking conversatives.

It would appear as though the liberals in here are just crying to admin about anything they can to try and get anyone that opposes their point of view banned.

Duckie's memory is real good, her problem is that she could not understand the written letters and therefore could not read. She got along with having people read things to her and then she would commit it to memory. Until the tutor taught her a method of reading for herself. She has now gone through many of the books in our library and I got her a iPad so she can download books. The school where she now attends, do not have text books, they are all downloaded to iPads. Makes for smaller backpacks.

Duckie love the animals. We had a cat come to the farm, she had kittens and now has kept one. The kitten's name is Tony named after one of my doctors. I have to admit that the kitten is real cute and the doctor was very handsome. I think that Duckie took a shine to him.

I am so glad that your daughter had great parents to help her overcome her problem. And you have grandchildren, one day tell me all about them. I know that you are proud!

I have two grandchildren; one boy and one girl. Love them to death!

Actually the person that Duckie had the misunderstanding with was not a Liberal. It was just a person that may have been teased or tormented as a kid because they did poorly in English, thereby being oversensitive. Duckie just hit the wrong button when she asked if the person had written in English. Duckie now knows better and will be much more diplomatic when she sees or hears something she does not understand. I assure you, my daughter did not intend to be unkind. But, the other person just kept getting more and more defensive, until Duckie abandoned the thread.
