Anyway thank her for keeping us informed as to your health and progress through your surgery etc. We are all glad that you are up and about. I will then change the compliment to you have a fine and wonderful daughter and you should be very proud of her. Unfortunately the liberals or progressives you know the ones that are soooo understanding are the ones that scream the loudest if you disagree with them in any way shape or form. I will try to find an Orthodox Synagogue here in my area as soon as the weather warms to above 30 degrees. In a recent scroll ,"A Lesson In Economics", i lost my temper with an ignorant,insulting poster and got vulgar. To the ignorant,this suggested that i lost the argument. Not so. The ignoramus i lost my patience with was not giving me an argument or any substantial debate. Just insults and propaganda. Any of you who have read any of my previous posts know i am eager for rational discussions about relevant issues and i try, in vain, to reach out to people with different views. I am sorry that i got obscene on what is supposed to be, i think, a civilized forum. But i'm not sorry for the vitriol i spewed at him, the guy deserved it. IGNORANCE IS A HUGE OBSTACLE TOWARD PROGRESS. If you are on this site just to insult people, and not try to communicate on relevant issues, get lost. Some of us are interested in solutions. You want to argue facts, truth, root-causes? Anytime. But that's not what i get from the few ignoramuses on this forum. So i lost my temper. I'm human. But i guess i give the ignorant what they want when i sink to their level. I welcome any suggestions on how to deal with fellow Americans whose minds are closed and hatred strong. Their sheer ignorance is a huge impediment to making things right in this country.

"The guy deserved it" is, for me, a cue to something in you that needs more work.
Ignorant is simply "not knowing." Someone not agreeing with you does not make them ignoramuses--even if you have a ton of evidence. Belief have made them resistant, not ignorance or even stupidity, though those elements are usually present where belief overrides an open look at the facts.

Not a soul on earth is not ignorant. Build a case against ignorance and you both indict and convict yourself.

It is easy to get angry on this site. Many people find your particular buttons and then just do not know when to stop poking you with a stick. I did not read that thread, but I can tell you that it really is not worth your dignity to become paralyzed with anger. It detracts from your point. But, you know that and thus the reason for your post. I have been away for a while and this is my first time back, this place has become very hostile. Few people are willing to converse. Most of the new folks seem very hostile to opposing points of view.

I commend you for recognizing this breach, I further admire you for posting your regrets. I hope that this one time unpleasant incident does not drive you away. It is easy to say, when they start with inane remarks to ignore them, but that at times is impossible. So, in responding, just make sure you do not address them at the same level they addressed you. Acknowledge them and then go back to the point you were trying to make. Repeat your original thought if necessary. This normally drives the misinformed and illiterate people onto other threads where they can be successful in picking a fight.

J the liberal parasites in here do nothing but attack and attack attempting to turn the topic of any post around. The best thing I have found is to just ignore their crap and press on smartly. I think this annoys them a lot more than entering into a battle of words with the mindless wonders.

Duckie will be flattered that you remember her. I would love to take the credit for Duckie being as strong as she is, but it is all her. I can say that I am indeed a very blessed old woman!

When you find a synagogue near you, just keep in mind that service is on Saturday; you will be welcomed with warmth and hospitality. Do not worry about anything, the men will guide you. And do not expect anyone to try to preach to you or convert you. Just enjoy yourself. Most of the Orthodox services are very simple. The temple is not ornate, simple and warm. I wish I were closer to you or you closer to us, we would gladly take you with us! And be proud to introduce you to everyone!
