In a recent scroll ,"A Lesson In Economics", i lost my temper with an ignorant,insulting poster and got vulgar. To the ignorant,this suggested that i lost the argument. Not so. The ignoramus i lost my patience with was not giving me an argument or any substantial debate. Just insults and propaganda. Any of you who have read any of my previous posts know i am eager for rational discussions about relevant issues and i try, in vain, to reach out to people with different views. I am sorry that i got obscene on what is supposed to be, i think, a civilized forum. But i'm not sorry for the vitriol i spewed at him, the guy deserved it. IGNORANCE IS A HUGE OBSTACLE TOWARD PROGRESS. If you are on this site just to insult people, and not try to communicate on relevant issues, get lost. Some of us are interested in solutions. You want to argue facts, truth, root-causes? Anytime. But that's not what i get from the few ignoramuses on this forum. So i lost my temper. I'm human. But i guess i give the ignorant what they want when i sink to their level. I welcome any suggestions on how to deal with fellow Americans whose minds are closed and hatred strong. Their sheer ignorance is a huge impediment to making things right in this country.

It is easy to get angry on this site. Many people find your particular buttons and then just do not know when to stop poking you with a stick. I did not read that thread, but I can tell you that it really is not worth your dignity to become paralyzed with anger. It detracts from your point. But, you know that and thus the reason for your post. I have been away for a while and this is my first time back, this place has become very hostile. Few people are willing to converse. Most of the new folks seem very hostile to opposing points of view.


So glad you're back. Since you are, can I assume everything went ok. This has nothing to do with your post, though I agree with it. Just had to say "WELCOME BACK."

I commend you for recognizing this breach, I further admire you for posting your regrets. I hope that this one time unpleasant incident does not drive you away. It is easy to say, when they start with inane remarks to ignore them, but that at times is impossible. So, in responding, just make sure you do not address them at the same level they addressed you. Acknowledge them and then go back to the point you were trying to make. Repeat your original thought if necessary. This normally drives the misinformed and illiterate people onto other threads where they can be successful in picking a fight.

I wish you well, and I hope to read your posts in the future.

J the liberal parasites in here do nothing but attack and attack attempting to turn the topic of any post around. The best thing I have found is to just ignore their crap and press on smartly. I think this annoys them a lot more than entering into a battle of words with the mindless wonders.
For any liberal parasite to enter into a battle of words with a Conservative would be like a soldier going to war without a weapon ....

Welcome back ginnyt. I so hope that you are feeling better and are on the road to a full and complete recovery. I believe that your son covered for you and I can truly say that you can be very proud of him. Again for J I have found that ignoring them pushes there buttons as they do not like to be ignored. Wait for a fellow conservative to answer your post or to even go to bat and take on the ingrate and then respond to the fellow conservative. This gives you a chance to take the higher ground and not lower or debase yourself as the progressives do. Let them show their true colors as the act out as spoiled children and as spoiled children the best way to handle them is to make sure that they don't hurt themselves but otherwise ignore them.

Thank you for the welcome and yes, I am back to my old self....no more runs, which is a downer, but otherwise in the pink! My son is still here with his family it is good to have them around! What do you mean that my son covered for me? Yes, I am proud of him, he is considering moving back into the area. He has become very involved in the Synagogue and now helps me deliver meals to shut ins.

BTW, great advice to J. It is hard every once in a while to take the higher ground, but in the end you feel much better about yourself when you do!

Your son did a magnificent job keeping us all informed as to your condition and even joined in discussions and added his two cents on a number of topics. I know this site can become addictive but maybe he can stop by once and awhile and join in the foray. Again welcome back and when winter is finally abated in this area I am looking forward to a attending a Synagogue. I believe that I heard that there are I believe that there are three different classifications of Jewish belief. I don't know whether that is correct or not or if I phrased that properly but there are the reformed Jews, (I think these are liberals) and then there are two others and I can't remember what they are called. I would like to attend the conservative one if possible and don' remember which it is. Again welcome back and good to see you up and around.

Are you talking about Duckie? That is my daughter. You had me wondering about my son, he claims technology ignorance when I text him and I have yet to receive a response to an email from him. Now Duckie, she is quite precocious and is interested in quite a few things. Unfortunately, her account was discontinued because of two people complaining. Apparently she asked the wrong person if what they wrote was in English. :lol: that led to the other person becoming angry, which led Duckie to tell them that at their age they should be able to write a sentence that is readable with appropriate words and punctuation. Now this really caused a stink bottom line, the individual complained and Duckie is now banned. :lol: This is quite all right with me, she was spending more time than she should have on this site. I will let her know that you asked about her and relay your kind complement.
