The part I find interesting in this is the role people's ignorance plays in what their elected officials represent to them and what they are actually doing. In the mid term election republicans were talking up healthcare like they were the founders of the ACA and protecting pre existing conditions. Meanwhile how were they voting on the bills that actually protected people? They were voting in support of the bills that ended what they said they would protect.

Trump and the DOJ are not listening to what people think and want, and the GOP knows that their positions are toxic. I found it interesting that one of the senators talking against ending the ACA like the DOJ wants to says it is unacceptable to end it before having a good workable replacement.

To right wingers everything is talking points without understanding a thing the rhetoric means. This is an ongoing debate and it is important for people to understand the issues so they can understand the position their elected officials are taking. The only time ignorant people realize anything is when they lose what they had, then they scream at their politicians in town halls. And by the way, there is a reason republicans don't do many if any town halls or talk to their constituents, people are pissed and that includes the ones who voted for them.

Here's a talking point for you... you lost the congress over healthcare, and the GOP knows it, they were actively campaigning that they were protecting healthcare while voting against it, their voters are too ignorant to connect the dots.

Read the article, you'll be a little less ignorant and reliant on right wing rhetoric.

The house was lost because that is the cycle. GOP lost less seats that usual. I do not think you can get less ignorant since you get all your information from ELWNJ sites.

Having 'Insurance' seems to be the problem with the healthcare system. Whenever there's 'deep pockets' people tend to take advantage, in this case doctors, hospitals and big pharma. My employer pays almost $400. every 2 weeks for my 'insurance'. I see my doctor 3 times a year for prescription renewals - i'm 77. My co-pay is $25. per visit and the visit - without insurance - is $275. Do the math. How 'bout a "basic" plan for everyone that covers regular check ups. Those who NEED more elaborate coverage could buy a policy that suits their needs. ANY PLAN MUST INCLUDE CONGRESS & FEDERAL WORKERS !

Just like Trump to want to yank healthcare from 34 million people with no Plan B just so he can tell his deplorable base he kept a campaign promise.

If the Trump base is deplorable, that means the Democrat base should be referred to as despicable.

Democrat strategist Pat Cadell once said, "We have the party of stupid and the party of insane." No doubt which is which.

I haven't studied the issue of healthcare today BUT I'm old enough to remember when having health insurance meant rarely - if ever - having to pay a penny out of pocket. And does anyone else remember being able to deduct health expenses from your income tax? Maybe it's time to look 'back to the future' and any new plan MUST include our beloved federal employees.

They’re one and the same: the party which sold its soul to Donald Trump.
