It's safe to say he is very conservative and an avid basketball fan, especially of his Kansas Jayhawks.

Our good friend OldRoy, one of OPP's very first contributors, had been struggling with a bout of severe pneumonia. But, he is now appears on the road to recovery. All who would, please send your prayers, good wishes and best hopes for his total recuperation.

Roy is also one of OPP's several octogenarians.

My prayers for him...
May he have a speedy recovery...

Thanks for letting us know, Slatten

Slatten49,

Your post inspired me to look up the dates some of us had joined OPP. It's been a quick six years.

I send Oldroy my best regards, and am praying for him. He's truly a gentleman and a scholar.

I joined OPP on April 15, 2013, ten days before AuntiE. She joined on April 25, 2013.

Oldroy was one of the first members to greet me when I became a member on April 15, 2013.

Bahmer was also already a member, having joined on March 17, 2013.

You (Slatten49) joined August 11, 2013, and Archie Bunker joined August 14, 2013.

rumitoid has been a member since June 15, 2013, and permafrost joined on September 27, 2013.

Free America has been a member since February 21, 2013, and Liberty Tree since October 3, 2013.

That was just a quick look-see, but it's interesting to see there are still quite a few of the first year's participants interacting with each other and those who followed them.

Again, my best regards to oldroy.

For several weeks, to my memory and understanding. Roy joined the forum in early March of 2013. The only one earlier than him to my memory is AuntiE, who joined in April of '13...again, to my memory. Your were up there in that time frame also, weren't you in March of '13

Thanks for the research updates, Zemirah. I hadn't realized the length of your time on OPP. OldRoy and I have a lengthy history of PM exchanges. He, indeed, is a gentleman and a scholar of sorts.

I will, indeed, send him your best regards

If you remember anything about me it has to be that I have been conservative all along. I do not really like people who are liberal other than a few like Slatten.

This pneumonia crap is no fun. I made lots of messes on the crapper floor for the nurses to clean up. I am feeling very well, by comparison now. I went to the hospital not knowing what was going on and it wasn't till a couple of days later that I knew what the score was.

Mr. Ahmer I was writing to you for some time before I came here.

I heard from Slatten just before you. I was invited to join this OPP place, I think because someone here knew that I had been permanently removed from City - Data by a group of liberals that didn't like reading me. I liked you from the very beginning but didn't seem to read a lot from you all the time.

I am feeling so much better every day and today was the best one, so far. Let's hope that the Senate fails to take part with the Democrats after the Dems manage to throw Trump part way out.

It's really good to know you're recovering, oldroy.

It's hard to keep a good man down, and OPP needs to hear your common sense voice.

I couldn't agree with you more about the unlikeliness of the Democrats/Progressives/Liberals having any success at throwing President Trump out of office through Impeachment proceedings or any other illegal nefarious scheme.

He's our legally elected U.S. President, and disliking the results of the election doesn't give anyone the right to overturn it.

We have four Republican Rinos that need to be primaried and defeated so they can't vote with the Democrats against our nation's best interests on every important issue in the future.

God bless you, Oldroy, as you continue to recover, one day at a time.

Thanks, Slatten49,

I really appreciate your sounding an alarm so everyone who reads it becomes aware that a member like Oldroy needs prayer (if so inclined), and a word of encouragement.

When in the hospital, anyone appreciates hearing from people; it really helps the frame of mind become more upbeat.

God bless.

Our memories aren't the only thing that start to fail us at a certain age.

My fastball ain't what it used to be, either
