Finnish Government Collapses...Why It Matters!!

By Mike Huckabee

Don’t look now – seriously, the media really don’t want you to look – but Finland, the “Democratic” Socialists’ most favored nation, their example of the country America should emulate, just saw its government collapse and its Prime Minister and Cabinet resign due to the unsustainable costs of universal health care. This happened last week. Did you hear about it in the news? Didn’t think so.

https://legalinsurrection.com/2019/03/finland-government-collapses-over-universal-health-care-costs-bernie2020-hardest-hit/

This comes less than a year after Finland killed its experiment with a “universal basic income,” replacing it with mandatory job training and work requirements for people on government benefits.

There’s more at the link, along with a few ironic tweets from Bernie Sanders, lavishing praise on Finland. In one, he demands, “If Finland can provide everyone with health care, send everyone to college for free and provide affordable child care, why can’t the US?”

Well, Finland can’t. Neither can you, Bernie.

Incidentally, I just checked Bernie’s two Twitter feeds, for Senator and Presidential candidate. As expected, there was a lot of ranting against billionaires and millionaires (he is one of the latter, by the way, and somehow became one while he was a socialist “public servant,” as so many socialist public servants do), and about completing his mission to transform America with a lot of big government handout programs.

But strangely, not a word about the collapse of the government of Finland due to the exact policies he’s espousing. In fact, I scrolled all the way back to last week, and the word “Finland” never appeared – even though that’s obviously what he wants to transform America into. But at least he can take solace in knowing that with people like him in Congress, he’s already made a lot of headway in turning the US into a place where the cost of government is unsustainable.

Crickets mostly from all the major news outlets. Even Fox was focused on Jussie Smollett's indictment among other things. And the liberal take on it seems to be twisting the narrative so that what happened isn't shown to be a direct result of the democratic-socialist methods American socialists point to with pride. Let's sit back and maybe we can get some constructive comments from opposing viewpoints here...spete? kevyn? kemmer? permafrost? anyone?

Don't hold your breath, they rarely comment on anything negative, that refutes their ideology~

Sorry. You'll have to settle for me.

I'm a democrat, but not a progressive.

A republican form of government is great for the wealthy. In order for the majority to have a decent life, a little socialism is required. We have that: social security and Medicare. We also have free education for 12 years.

I find the programs that Bernie and other socialist are wanting are not logical. In my opinion, welfare is out of control.

OK. I agree that welfare in its many forms is out of control. And no country has truly laissez-faire capitalism (which I'm assuming you mean when you say "republican form of government". No system is perfect, but if more immigrants would rather come here than anywhere else, why do people keep trying to mess with what is apparently the best system in the world?

Human nature. We look at something, and our first thought is: I can make that better. I'm guilty. Are you?

Actually, no. I don't attempt to put myself in the same class as our founding fathers. The documents that are the basis of our government are astoundingly well thought out. Over the years people with wealth and power have figured our how to game the system but the fact remains as will many who have started with little or nothing and made it through intelligence, dedication, and hard work - the opportunity is there for anyone. In America we all start out the same but people on the left keep trying to make it so that we all end up the same. Not buying it!
