White Europeans mind you and they flew the American flag and were patriots who were very kind to me because I was a serviceman. Individuals aren’t the issue. The fruit of the religion is.
I'm not sure that most Americans did believe him, but he was trusted as a President and given the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, he was incorrect!

There were many Muslims who immigrated to the US in the late 1940s an early 1950s who WANTED to be here and saw America as a good place. That was then. This is now. Many, many of those that were settled here don't want to be here and don't make any secret of that.

They were brought over as refugees. Much different than legal immigration process.

Really, only ignorant people condemn Islam? Wow, that's a new one on me.
I wonder what all those Coptic Christians in Egypt and Syria would say if they still had their heads attached to their bodies. Or how about the 20 young boys and girls who were locked in an iron cage and burned to death. Or what of the nearly three thousand people who died horribly at the hands of peaceful Muslims on 9/11. And, of course, there's Hamas in the Gaza Strip and West Bank teaching the Palestinian children to hate Jews and training them to kill.
Fortunately I'm just a dumb country hick so I can condemn the living shyte out of Islam. I suppose I should write a letter to the Ayatollah Khamenei and beg him to stop hanging homosexuals, he's pissing off the LGBTQs. Maybe I should also tell him to tone down the "Death to America" and "Death to Israel" rhetoric cuz it makes people really nervous. I might also ask him what he intends to do with nuclear weapons once his bunker boys have them built.
I should write to King Abdullah of Jordan also. After ISIS captured a JAF pilot and burned him to death in an iron cage, King Abdullah put out an appeal to Muslim leaders everywhere stating they should seek major reform of Islam, get it up to speed with the 21st century rather than acting like a bunch of barbarians from the Dark Ages. It would have to be a message of condolence though since nobody in the Islamic world was listening. Or, I could send the king a message of encouragement: "Hang in there, excellency, Islam's time for reform is coming."

Ignorance is as ignorance does...
I condemn those atrocities as do many in the Muslim world... (you gave an excellent example with King Abdullah
)
As I recall those fine Coptics defended their Muslim neighbors and were murdered by ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood... Two groups which the majority of Islam condemn...
I've got a bit of hick in me as well...
Your the first I have heard to use that term on the OPP... Where abouts are you from?
Stay strong Blade

It certainly is...
And they certainly don't integrate...
They need to be carefully monitered and returned to their countries as soon as possible...
Never pet a burning dog...

Fanatics need to be denounced and combatted...
Demonizing an entire faith is just giving the fanatics fuel for their propaganda...
I believe your story...

Not forced, but may feel no choice? Dunno, but they show by word and deed they don't want to be here and have no intention of assimilation.
I first heard it in Canada as a teenager...
Made me laugh for years until I figured it out

Refugees are not looking for a place to live... They are running from where they live...
Those 18 months are spent helping them to assimulate?
Just checking their backgrounds..Hoping to insure they are not fanatics... No?

What is the incentive to assimulate?
As refugees they receive 'special status'...
Take away the handouts and there would be more assimulation...
And fewer coming in the first place...
