Why do some find it necessary to resort to name calling and ad hominems? Lies do not impress people, they do not convince people to see your point of view. No matter how many times they are repeated they are still lies. Name calling often are lies. Questioning the Obamas’ sexuality is lies. Persons on both sides of the political spectrum are guilty. As for the why ... I think it was Joseph Goebbels who is credited with saying, “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."
If true, then that is truly sad. Because that would imply people are no longer interested in the search for truth. My personal philosophy is to question absolutely everything. Don't ever blindly believe or accept what you're told or what you see ... especially if it's on T.V. Always seek truth wherever it may be - even if it contradicts your world view or ideology. Otherwise you cease to learn and are easily lead astray by those who would exploit your intellectual laziness.
