I ate a cockroach one time.
In 1963 I worked 2nd shift at a foundry in Rock Island, Ill and shared an apartment with some other guys.
Those old apartments along the Mississippi were all infested with big cockroaches.
One night after I got home I was setting the dark (so I wouldn't bother the guys who worked days) drinking a beer and eating Ritz Crackers from the box.
I bit into something that at first was crunchy.....then immediately I knew what I had bitten into.
I never again ate anything in that apartment from a box... usually it came from a can, most likely a beer can.

The worm is the best high.
As a bartender I would take the worms out of the Mescal (not easy) and eat them. Really nice buzz without being drunk, plus, it made the Mescal more approachable to customers.

The worm was the easiest part of the bottle.
Except once.
In El Gusano Rojo Mezcal; the worm was just a shriveled piece of skin.
Once at a super Bowl party, another brand of Mezcal was there. The worm was a big plump one.
I thought; no problem.
I almost puked it up.

I bought a 5 liter jug of El Gusano Rojo for a Cnco De Mayo weekend in Ensenada.
My buddy was claiming that he was hallucinating from it.

The bottle made a great candle stick holder for many years.

The worm without any of the Mescal gives a high kind of like mescaline. I was at work behind the bar, and suddenly, all the girls got pretty.

The radical DEMS in charge of Congress right now will never change the immigration laws. They want president Trump to fail.
