Maybe you should check it out yourself. Obama did not shut down the government. And it wasn't a case of defunding. Obamacare was a law. They wanted him to veto the law. Since it was a law already, it was funded already. The only way to defund was to get it vetoed. That is why they blamed him. He would not veto his own law. Would you? I know all of you are pissy about Obamacare right now, but I bet in a couple years you are all going to be as happy with it as most are with medicare.

Your making yourself seem dumb. A law can't be vetoed. Not all laws are funded nor enforced. This post is a jumbled mess. Others have clearly explained how bills become laws. The rolls of the legislative process and you still only seem capable of saying "republicans shut down the government that guy on Leno said so and he's a republican". You better pay more attention or at least stop voting because you don't know which way is up.

I have testimony from a Republican, you have hearsay (unless there's some EO floating out there that proves your assertion).

It is possible to blame the Democrats for not accepting a bill that defunded their signature legislation. But did you really expect Senate Democrats and the President to just bail on it because Republicans refused to just fund everything? That is simply not reasonable to expect. It'd be like jabbing a fork into an electrical socket and expecting not to get zapped, what did you think was going to happen?

Regardless, the responsibility battle was already fought and lost by Republicans. Time to pick up, dust off, and move on already.

As far as being at war with your fellows... That's just a shame and is clearly the opposite direction this country needs to move. A house divided against itself cannot stand.

I can put the facts in front of you, but I cannot give an understanding of them to you when you deny them. You are saying that Obama could not keep the rest of the government open because Obamacare was not funded. Why? ? ? The rest of the government was funded, so it could have been opened, BUT YOUR GUY Barak ordered the Government closed. He did not have to veto Obamacare. It just would not have been carried out.

Before you say that is illegal, I point out that your guy Barak picks laws he does not enforce all of the time. No Barak shut down the government.
