Remember Nicholas Sandmann? He and other Covington Catholic students were in Washington, DC to attend a March for Life anti-abortion rally when they were accosted by the 'native American' Nathan Phillips, verbally attacked by a group calling themselves the 'Black Hebrew Israelites' and the students responded with permission from the teacher chaperones by shouting "school spirit" chants before Phillips waded into scene playing his drum. Then the media made their move against them after observing that some of the students were wearing the iconic 'Make America Great Again' hats.
Last month, Sandmann sued the Washington Post for $250 million over its reporting of the same incident. Now he has sued CNN for $275 million, also for defamation, saying the cable network falsely conveyed to viewers that he was the "face of an unruly hate mob" during the confrontation.
$575 million, and that's just two of the more than fifty media outlets on his list. Talk about 'set for life'!

Umm, 250+275=525.
Nevertheless, point taken. I wonder how much he'll actually be rewarded???

Glad someone's paying attention.

I'm sure Larry did it intentionally as a test …
But to speak to the question, sure he would be set for life. He would be set for life with a lot less than that, which is more likely what he will end up with. Obviously, the attorneys start high so they have somewhere to go in settlement negotiations. Plus, they will probably end up with half of it anyway.
On the other hand, I think the amount does have to be enough to "hurt." I, for one, would hate to see a settlement. I would like to see these so-called "journalists" get dragged into court and put in the hotseat, and for someone to be held accountable, finally, for this type of biased reporting. Unfortunately, that would mean appeal after appeal after appeal, and the whole story will be mostly forgotten by the time any money is actually paid. (And by then AOC may have her tax plan forced upon us and 70%+ will end up in the hands of those math-deficient government agencies.)

Maybe... You'll never know for sure!
The press was extended special rights but they have to get the story right. Two verifiable sources at all times or it doesn't get printed or aired. If they can't do the job right, sue them out of business.
CNN is piped into 90 million outlets worldwide and has less than one million viewers, cut the cord people. Watch TV on the internet. Unless you want to continue to fund CNN and it's smear merchants. Tell the airports, doctor offices, or anywhere else your held captive to change the channel or turn it off.

What the media did to that poor kid was unconscionable. I hope he gets every last cent that WaPO etc. have. I thought Sandmann acted with admirable restraint for a sixteen year old.
One member of OPP called him a prick. I lost all of the little respect I had for him.
I've seen cheap Chinese made MAGA hats selling for $2.95. Sounds like a great ROI. Who needs Wall Street.
