Watchdog Gets Facts Wrong About AOC’s Campaign Finance Allegations


Snopes, the prominent fact-checking website with a liberal bent, grossly mischaracterized basic facts about a PAC controlled by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff.

The Daily Caller’s Andrew Kerr has more:

Ocasio-Cortez and Saikat Chakrabarti, her former campaign chair and current chief of staff, obtained majority control of Justice Democrats in December 2017. The PAC, which had raised more than $1.8 million before her June 2018 primary, has been widely credited with manufacturing her upset victory over incumbent Democrat Joe Crowley.

Snopes writer Dan MacGuill falsely claimed in his story that Chakrabarti, who served as executive director of Justice Democrats, “was not an official agent or officer” of the PAC. He also failed to acknowledge the fact that Chakrabarti and Ocasio-Cortez are members of the PAC’s three-member board of directors, according to archived versions of the Justice Democrats website and corporate filings obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Chakrabarti began serving as Executive Director of Justice Democrats in January 2017, according to his LinkedIn.

Former Federal Election Commission member Brad Smith told TheDCNF that Ocasio-Cortez and her top aide “could be facing jail time” if they knowingly and willfully withheld their control over Justice Democrats from the commission in order to bypass campaign contribution limits.

Snopes is not alone in its shoddy reporting, joining outlets like ABC, CBS, and CNN in either failing to disclose the freshman Democrat’s control in the PAC or covering her growing campaign finance scandals.

She broke the law but it matters not, she is a Democrat, seems the Dems are above the law if you do not believe that just look at Hillary and Holder, and many others, all are still walking the streets.
The GOP cares not as well.

Hilliary and Holder were investigated for 3 1/2 years by the republicans and they found nothing.
Trump and his crime are under investigation by republicans and the jails are filling up.
The problem with republicans is you work off conspiracy theories, that Trump uses to control there base. Democrats work of facts that’s why Flynn, Manafort, Cater Page, Rick Gates are headed to jail because they did break the law. Not some conspiracy theory or a propaganda article you actually need facts to indict.

Just less than 2 months in Congress, this Ocasio-Cortez is the most corrupt and dishonest person who now sits and abuse her power in Congress. She also demands from taxpayers 70% tax planning for her more aggressive extortions of peoples' hard earned taxes. Her mouth incessantly rattles demanding for more free bees from the people who all their lives have worked that made our country successful.
