Trump the self proclaimed master negotiator is not doing much to help the US in trade negotiations with other countries.
To my Republican friends on Opp to better understand this topic the definition of inflation is as follows.( THE COST OF GOODS AND SERVICES INCREASING AT A FASTER RATE THAN WAGE INCREASES) I will address how history has shown how this country combated inflation a totally different topic.
Under Trumps self inflicted trade war due to his world wide tariffs that Americans are paying for due to the increase in goods and services because of a 25% tariff on imports. The trade deficit in China imports has set record highs in this country.
The overall US trade deficit reached a 10 year high in 2018. The December deficit alone reached a 10 year high in 2018. It jumped 19% to $59.8 billion according to government reports that were delayed due to the costly government shutdown that reports now show cost $9.8 billion.
This government report increase pushed the trade deficit for the year to $621 billion but the final report has not been completed it was reported that it will increase to over $842 billion.
The primary impact of Trumps tariffs was he increased the prices on imports and these increase costs are paid for by the consumer which now raises inflation. Trump lies to his base with the (TRUMP QUOTE) we are making billions because these (COUNTRIES) have to pay these tariffs. (NO MR. TRUMP THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE PAYING YOUR TARIFFS THESE COUNTRIES ARE NOT JUST CUTTING A CHECK TO THIS COUNTRY THE MANUFACTURERS THAT MAKE THESE GOODS JUST INCREASE THE COST OF THESE IMPORTS AND THE AMERICAN CONSUMER PICKS UP THE COST). Why do republicans never mention this.
Over the past year Trump imposed tariffs on over $250 billion worth of goods from China. Trumps agenda was to force Beijing into trade talks but it was not successful except for Americans paying more. Imports from China increased during the last months of 2018 after the tariffs were imposed.
Trump Quote through deregulation that manufactor would come back and yes Trump will cherry pick and show some manufactor moving back but he ignores manufactors that are leaving. All we got from deregulation is our clean air and water regulations are gone. But trade deficits are on the rise at an alarming rate.
Trumps tariffs/Trade wars greatly hurt farmers. Farm bankruptcies increased throughout the Midwest. You can’t deny this because Trump through a Republican congress received $28 billion bailout for farmers who were affected by these massive tariffs. So they received tax funded deficit spending subsidies and I want to show republicans that this is called ( SOCIALISM)
Mid west farms reached a level of 223 filings for bankruptcy in 2018. This country now cannot ignore the effects of Trump inflected trade war because it’s 60% higher in farm bankruptcies based on a 10 year average of 141 filings. This country has oil and farm subsidies (Socialism) and now through Trumps trade war the American tax payer has to pick up an additional $28 billion. (SOCIALISM)
So as I have been researching I found the the update Gov. report as of today THE TRADE DEFICIT has actually reached $891.2 billion. Despite Trumps America first policies it has been a failure. It has certainly worked for foreigners because these devastating numbers represent a massive transfer of wealth from American manufactoring to foreigners.

Trump has a lot to answer for(HIS WALL MEXICO PAYS/GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN TO A PHONY NATIONAL EMERGENCY) (HEALTHCARE FOR ALL FAILED)
(PROMISED A BALANCED BUDGET FAILED) (CUT THE DEFICIT IN HALF IN TWO YEARS FAILED) (LARGEST MIDDLE CLASS TAX CUT IN HISTORY FAILED) ($1.2 BILLION DOLLAR INFRASTRUCTURE NOT A WORD IN TOW YEARS ON INFRASTRUCTURE BILL)
Not even to mention the ongoing and continued lies on the Russian investigation, Collusion, Obstruction as we await the Muellar report. But nothing from the Muellar report has been released but Trump for two years of owning the bully pulpit has his base convinced that whatever comes out in that report is a hoax.

Trumps ego entered this country into a trade war. But all Americans have discovered (NOBODY WINS A TRADE WAR BUT CHINA SURE HAS THEY HAVE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF A FAILED US POLicy). Americans voted for Trump because during the campaign sold himself as a master negotiator and we can all see that he is not he has failed again.
Trump beat the crap out of Obama on this one, not understanding trade balances and deficits he has increased the trade deficit we had under Obama by double digits.

Incorrect, the manufacturer does NOT raise the price, they charge the same price or may even reduce the price slightly to reduce the impact to the consumer. The price is increased by states-side wholesalers to cover the increased price they pay for the goods which in turn raises the price the retailers here in this country charge. The end result you claim is the same, it is the American consumer that pays either the majority of the cost of the tariffs or the entirety of them.

What’s crazy now on OPP these people are complaining that it’s awful that a president gets attacked like this. There saying no other president in history had been attacked this way. But this country has never elected a president that was heading a criminal organization.

It is fine if they are doing it to Obama because Obama is the great Satan, when the same thing happens to Trump, the second coming of Christ, that is a sacrilege that can not be tolerated, PERIOD! At least that is what I think their only justification can be for the hypocrisy.
