Can anyone tell me why people buy bread & milk. Usually, we lose power in severe snow storms, can keep milk cold but bread, is it for milk sandwiches?

One must assume people will live on peanut butter sandwiches with their milk.

It is the milk that mystifies me.
We are apparently the only mammal that ingests milk after childhood, which some research indicates is not such a good thing.
I would have gone with bread and Rye Whiskey.
(but indeed, the TP Is essential!!!)

We ingest milk because the, suppose, knowledgeable nutritionist tell us we
must have it. In fact milk is not necessary in childhood. ProgenyE never consumed milk. He was allergic to it. There are a substantial number of calcium rich food one can substitute.
As I do not consume bread, my list would be gin, tonic, limes, crudités ingredients, vegetable soup ingredients and TP.

TP Is The First Thing To Go
When The Socialist Collapse Begins
Then Clean Water
Next Thing You Know
You're Eating Stray Dogs & Pigeons
And Farmers Put Up Booby-Traps And Alarms
To Protect Their Own Food And Family
For the lactose intolerant that is nowhere near enough toilet paper.
I a pathologist once told me milk is the near perfect food item! It has pretty much all nutrients we need! Of course he was a pathologist! Go figure!!
We humans are the only thing that ingests milk after weined.
Made for babies apparently.
When I was young, my mother fed us bread and milk (with a touch of sugar) v. cereal. We lived on a dairy, so milk was free. She used milk a lot.

Are you sure that wasn't the Dairy Board speaking?
It was cooled raw milk with the cream taken off the top.
That's milk before sold to the people that processed it for the stores.

If it's snow that's predicted and the power goes out put the milk outside. The peanut butter is hiding behind the milk. The bread is for making PB sandwich. The gun wadding (toilet paper) is a necessity for any peanut butter party. But the painting and title is interesting huh?
