Who sold slaves from Africa?
According to John K. Thornton, Europeans usually bought enslaved people who were captured in endemic warfare between African states. Some Africans had made a business out of capturing Africans from neighboring ethnic groups or war captives and selling them.

Blacks must be thankful that they were brought to the West. Now blacks have more rights in the US than others due to "Affirmative Action". Those left behind in Africa are still living in poverty. Those slaves sold to the Muslims were killed.

They were sold by their own people. The Black Muslims especially were slave traders. Those blacks sold to the Muslim world, were killed, as soon as they became old and useless.

Those blacks sold by their own people to the White world were given freedom. President Lincoln emancipated slavery. Now, they have more rights than anybody else.

During the early days, there were slaves all over. In the Middle East, Muslims enslaved the Jews and Christians since Mohammad emerged. Christians were enslaved when the Middle East was taken by the Muslims. The Christian women were raped by Muslims, and the rest of them enslaved and killed.

Most conquering nations enslaved the natives. European countries like Spain during the 15th century took over other countries and enslaved the natives. They treated them slaves.

Blacks consist of 14% US population, but there are more black employees of 18.1% of the total federal workforce. There is no discrimination here. The blacks are more privileged. Records from 2015.

Finally, the Jews were the most oppressed people in the world. They were almost annihilated by Hitler during WW2. Until now, Jews are yelled at and oppressed.

They are successful because they work hard and are smart. But not all of them are fair. E.g. Zuckerberg does not care about Jews in Israel.

You know Mike, the Demand for cheap labor originated when this was a British colony the rich landowners paid the fines of high taxes in England that caused men to lose their buisnesses and was jailed for the balanced owed.

The men came to the British colonies as a type of slave labor to work off the fines and transporation to the Colonies. High taxes imposed was why 4 brothers and their families came to the British Colonies in the 1760s. My forefathers.

High raxes caused the people in the Colonies to resort to rebellion and after they won, they formed what is now the United States. My forefathers all fought in the Revolutionary war and earned lsnd grants for their service.

In 1802 they settled on what is now the tree farm. When Thomas Jefferson bought what was known as the Louisians purchase. Two of the brothers went to Philadelphia, which was the Capitol at that time and secured title for the 4 secrions of land grants.

The invention of the cotton gin caused expansion of growing cotton. Labor in short supply allowed the greedy to buy slaves in Africa for a quart of cheap rum. They were shipped to the Caribbean islands and trained as workers instead of hunters they were originally used to.

The British, Dutch and Boston rum makers got rich from the slave trade. The Southern plantation owners borrowed money from the Boston cotton dealers to buy slaves and paid the money back in cotton. Less than 1% of the population owned slaves.

This immoral practice lasted for over 70 years until Republican President Abraham Lincoln put a stop to it. He was assassinated by a Democrat traitor for his action.

In 1862 my forefathers in Mississippi refused to swap their silver and gold money for paper Confederate money. The Rebel's constantly harrased us "traitors" looking for runaway slaves. Our French Cajuns helped hide the slaves deep in the bayou's and not a single slave was recaptured.

Today we employee many of these ancesters of these Cajuns and Negros and many mixed bloods of Cajun/Negro decendants.

In all the years America has exhisted the Democrats were for higher taxes and slave labor. Today nothing has been learned from all these years of mistakes by the Democrats.

All my ancestors have always been conservatives never borrowing money and always saved our assets.

The 1% of the slave owners descents should pay the descents of the slaves.

Believe it or not but the United States Government bought land in Africa and set up a Democrat Republic for all the slaves that wanted to return to their African roots.

The slaves got free transportation, tools, seeds, mules, cows and other animals to get them started. That country is now called Libya.

Ultimately, "reparations for slavery" is just another political football that will be used by the Dems to get votes. You can't change history (although the Dems try to) and who is paying the people that fought and died to free those slaves?? Isn't it enough of a reparation that they were freed and now have every opportunity available to succeed?

The charge of "racism" is getting old and not having the impact it used to have, so "reparations" is the new "racism".

No. The prevailing law won't allow it.

When a friend of Grandpaws, a father and mother were killed by a drunk driver, Grandpaw filed a wrongful death law suit in behalf of the surviving son to provide funds for college the judge ruled for the drivers estate and the son didn't get funds for him to go to college.

When that son, a senior in high school graduated with honors, Grandpaw paid for him to go to college. He became a fine attorney in New Orleans and was Grandpaws attorney now today is my attorney and tax advisor.
