This site has a never ending flow of hostility and lack of useful communication. I assume most of us began participating on this site in order to exchange opinions and information and, hopefully, learn something. We may be able to save this exchange if we really want to. I think we are destroying the site partially because we are not aware of five basic things. These six things are not opinions, I think they are about as near to being facts as humans can get.
We are all biased. I dont mean you are all biased, I mean we humans are all biased. All media is biased, some intentionally and some unintentionally, but none are free of it.
We are not aware of most of our biases.
We defend our unconscious biases with protective arguments called rationalizations in attempt to protect them. Often times, our reasons that protect our biases are obvious to others, but not to ourselves. Usually, we become angry when our biases are exposed.
We protect out biases by avoiding information that reveals them, people who offer counter arguments, and other sources of non confirming information and opinions. This is called the confirmation bias. Look it up on Wikipedia.
We can gain access to our unconscious biases in several ways, but first we must become aware we have biases and begin to know what they are about.
We often think we see our biases in others as a way of avoiding recognizing them in ourselves.
What are your thoughts (and emotions) about these statements?
No Incubus. Your argument is bound for the scrapheap. This is not your comfort zone. This is war. Cyber warfare. Come strong or stay home.

Most believe if they are angry it means both they are right and another has wronged them, but all disturbance we perceive, no matter what the apparent cause, the problem is in us. Get very upset, defensive, hostile, or hateful and the problem within us is deep and a secret. This is just one basic understanding in helping oneself in bias-reduction and emotional healing.

Wolf, These are not my argument, they are what we call facts.
Wolf counselor was the first to respond to this thread and to respond with his usual mindless anger was to be expected.
He sees exposing him as biased as a threat that would warrant warfare...Very angry and very hostile. Wolf needs a war of words to protect his unconscious biases and he would come to such warfare unarmed. I have stated facts and you are angry. That was very predictable according to the principles I listed. I hope you are able to use this opportunity to learn something.

The ones who most need to see and hear this useful post are blind and deaf from their hate.

rumitoid, We have gotten one such response already from wolf counselor. Let's see who else feels the pain rather than getting the point.

Your response doesn't seem to have anything to do with the issue at hand. Did you intend your response for another thread or what?
Again. This is not your comfort zone Incubus. And facts are what each individual perceives to be valid. There is no validity in your words as you speak the language of weakness. Protect my

See my points of fact. Which one describes your comment? Right, it is a rationalization to protect your biases. Thanks for the live example.
How can you consciously protect something that you are unconscious of ?

You refer to me as incubus. The definition of incubus is, one who causes mental distress: somebody who causes somebody much worry or anxiety, especially a nightmare or obsession. Am I causing you a nightmare or obsession by telling you about your biases? If I am and you want to keep your biases, I suggest you stop viewing and commenting on this thread.
