There is such a thing as righteous indignation, Jesus had it when he threw the money changers out of the temple! How much much will God have when killing his babies!
Agreed...
The education system in the West (I include Canada and many european nations) has been seriously compromised...
Civics and history have been either ignored or distorted...
I would contend that the majority of Democrats are for certain socialist policies, rather than Socialism as a whole...
Perhaps in the early stage that was true, now however the movement is significantly more than just policy~~ what other socialist policy would you suggest ??
Medicare for all?? No option for independant private choice??Free college?? Paid for by governmen?? How?? More taxation??

The bottom line: The Democratic socialist movement is growing at every level of government.
Plenty more to read..., <snip>

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) has grown from 7,000 members to 50,000 since President Trump was elected.

At least 46 Democratic socialist candidates and two DSA-backed ballot measures have won their primaries in 2018, according to a list compiled by the DSA.

Of those, 14 were endorsed by the national DSA chapter (but the other were endorsed by their local chapter.)
Four of their candidates are running for U.S. House; the rest are running for state-level office, like state House, state Senate, and city council.
Some DSA victories this cycle include:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Julia Salazar in New York

James Thompson in Kansas
Rashida Tlaib in Michigan
Sarah Smith in Washington
Four women in Pennsylvania, all backed by the Philly chapter of DSA, won their primaries for state House: Summer Lee and Sara Innamorato both unseated longtime Democratic incumbents, and Elizabeth Fiedler and Kristin Seale won their races.
Ocasio-Cortez, the Democratic socialist darling of 2018, has endorsed at least five candidates outside of DSA who have won their primaries, including Ayanna Pressley in Massachusetts, Ben Jealous in Maryland, Stacey Abrams in Georgia, Andrew Gillum in Florida and Ilhan Omar in Minnesota.

The bottom line: The Democratic socialist movement is growing at every level of government.

Go deeper: The Democratic socialist movement comes to Michigan

"Medicare for All" is a winner in Democratic primaries

Progressives to Democrats: Ignore Trump voters, focus on minorities

Correction: This post has been updated to reflect that DSA's 48 victories included two ballot measures, and that their membership is 50,000, not 37,000.

You'll excuse me if I choose calm and measured reasoning over panicked outrage..

It's a character flaw...

To have measured reasoning one must want the truth and you have the character flaw of not wanting to face it and what this law really is.

Is this your idea of applying 'Critical Thinking'?

Insult anyone who hasn't arrived at the same conclusion in the same amount of time as yourself...

And you would be right too, yet it is being done... I wish there was a breakdown of the voters by demographs, age, and education level.. I looked yet found nothing, perhaps too early after voting.. I am curious about it though..

Do need to check that again~~

I am ashamed to have to admit that this has happened in the city and state of my birth, New York.

I understand that there is a movement among lay Catholics to have him & his ilk excommunicated. Does anyone know whom I can contact to join in this effort?

Use your brains. Try to imagine a woman in her sixth month of pregnancy who finds, after an examination, that the fetus is not viable. She can either terminate the pregnancy or wait for the birth. There are risks either way.

The question you should answer is not what she should do. You are not competent to answer, even if you are an obstetrician.

You should tell us exactly who should make that decision: the woman and her doctor?
Or a fat, bald politician? Your answer, please!

You starred with the insults, but that is beside the point. Your idea of critical thinking is to find a way to justify this law. You will never condemn it.

A bit surprised LT~~ an informed decision is always best..

Would you prefer decisions based on no vetting of the issues involved?? I suspect not..

CD has not rendered an opinion as he is still vetting...

Give him the same consideration you give yourself before you make a determination of facts, please..He respects all people that I have seen and only wishes to seek opinions of others as well..

What kind of "critical thinking" does it take to be immediately opposed to killing babies? My step-son, an OB/Gyn, says that abortion to save the life of the mother is virtually never necessary. It took me all of 10 seconds of critical thinking to form an opinion.

How do we pay for free education and free medical care? The same way we pay for a dozen aircraft carriers and all the airplanes on board and the pilots and the crews and the port facilities and fifty years of operating expenses. Tell me how we pay for all that and I will tell you how to pay for anything!

Marvin sussman: we pay for full education and health care by closing the military. We contact Russia, China, N. Vietnam and the Midwest of the shutdown. Ask them to agree to our redistribution to education and healthcare. Then we surrender to their demands. Since we don't teach tolerance, free speech, capitalism and patriotism now, they will believe us.
You want peace? Upon meeting opposition you surrender. Instant peace.
I wonder who Russia et al would appoint as our president/Governor General???
Yes we could pay for full education and healthcare inc illegal aliens.

If I have insulted you sir I offer my apologies...
It was not my intent...
I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt when they are making up their minds and ask that others do the same for myself....

I have had my own experience with medically necessary abortion...
We opted to continue the pregnancy inspite of the risk...
We are now the proud parents of the most precious little 17 month old girl who has ever lived...
And my wife still suffers complications from the surgery that followed the C-section...
And we will never know the joy of a second child...
And it was entirely worth it...
And that is my/our personal stance on abortion...

But I am not yet familiar enough with this law to condemn others for seeking the option I refused...

That is fortunate for you....
I work at a University with an excellent medical department and was urged to terminate the pregnancy to save my wife's life... These were not randon doctors, But my friends and colleagues...
I trusted them.. But trusted God more....
I am now the proud father of a beautiful baby girl...
But I also recognize that there are situations where abortion is necessary, and that other individuals have the right to make their own decisions...
