Obamas plan was socialist Healthcare not affordable private Healthcare which is why the system put in place by the democrats failed, it was designed to fail.
The useful idiots (what the democrats called their voting base) are incapable of understanding, they continue to defend the ACA making fools of themselves. Insurance companies left the ACA unable to withstand the millions of dollars in losses. Majority of our 50 states have been left with only 2 insurance companies and many only one (zero price competition and loss absorption from multiple insurance company competition). Over half of the 4 million monthly cost tripled or quadrupled from a $350.-$12-1,400.per month. The coverage with deductibles over 10k per family member caused many to be unable to pay medical bills resulting in collections and bad credit scores. Majority of Americans elected for the IRS penalty which was a fraction of the monthly cost and pay cash for an urgent care visit for the flu or a few stitches.
Trump should get completely away from any form of government Healthcare involvement instead removing the interstate restrictions of insurance companies. Requiring hospitals to give accurate estimates of elective surgeries allowing consumers to price shop and eliminating medical coverage for illegals. Add sliding scales for all state run medicaid programs and overhauling losses hospitals are required to absorb for the uninsured. Also price controls, stopping medical providers from charging different prices depending on type of insurance, instead each procedure has one price for all.
