In what way is Pelosi a progressive in any meaningful way? Maybe on some trivial social issues. But on financial, insurance, banking, military industrial complex funding, investigation of cheney/bush 2 off the table, continuation and expansion of their globalist policies, non support of medicare for all, non support of free college, non support of an immediate increase in minimum wage; not full effect in 6 years, her support for charter schools, non support for congressional net neutrality regulation, voted for the bank bailout, supported the republican health plan known as obama care, when we progressives wanted single payer in 2008, 2009. Supported wars in afghan, iraq, syria, supported coup in guatemala, honduras, haiti, el salvadore, supports military dictatorships in columbia and egypt, she is every bit as war making as any Republican politician. So on these things she is far right wing. Like i said, socially she is to the center. She calls herself a moderate; meaning republican lite. U are brainwashed if you think social security, Medicare, free college, affordable housing, transportation can't be funded. And as i said in an earlier post venezuelas economy is not tanking because of socialism. But because of the interference from without by the full might of the western european, u.s. capitalist block of nations. And also by interference from within by powerful capitalist oligarchs who are every bit as greedy and selfish and evil as their u.s. counter parts. They will stop at nothing to destroy the socialist programs in venezuela. That it has taken them so long is a testament to the popularity of venezuelas socialist agenda with its people. They are informed and have experienced how these programs work and are effrctive in bringing about economic justice, democracy, and equality. Their people just don't want to go back to the old capitalistic ways. They are way more informed and enlightened than u.s. conservative republicans. They know these policies work and are affordable. The elites in the u.s. desperately try to brainwash the masses into making them think capitalism is synonymous with freedom, patriotism. They can't afford to allow the american people to see how they would benefit from such a system. So they fearmonger, stoke hatred, and just lie. Social security is a great program to lift the elderly after a lifetime of work out of poverty and homelessness when they are no longer able to work. Elites, through Republicans, have been trying to destroy the socialsecurity since its inception. But they haven't been able to do so. Why because the program works and it is good for people. American people have a taste of this socialist program and don't want to go back to being at the mercy of bankers and financiers. Its why the elites brainwash you conservative republicans into thinking social programs are your enemy. They just can't afford to allow other egalitarian social programs to take hold. They will literally do anything even bomb and murder to keep it from happening. Destroy whole nations. But you brainwashed conservative republicans are going to allow the people you vote for to destroy the program.
