Most of Congress went home for the weekend instead of trying to work this mess out for American people!!!!!......They dont deserve to have days off until this Shutdown is over!!!!!......Both sides should sit down and have a real fair debate about our Border Security....NO DAYS OFF UNTIL SHUTDOWN IS OVER!!!!

You do realize that McConnell can take a vote that is the exact same one the senate already passed once and send it over to be signed...whereupon it is likely that they could easily override any veto.

Veto works two ways, it's a double edged sword. McConnell isn't supposed to be worrying whether Trump will sign bills the house and senate put together...

On the other side if the senate sends a bill over that has solid enough senate support to override his veto it would be political suicide to do a veto that will be overruled.

Schumer blocked a Senate vote on a House bill that President Trump would likely have signed,

thus preempting the president from making a decision, and forcing the existing shutdown, himself.

When have members of Congress EVER suffered the same ills as the rest of America? BTW, did you hear about any members suffering losses as a result of the 2008 crash? The answer should be "no"...........it's almost as though they had forewarning of the crash.

Congress Critters are immune to inside trading=racketeering laws...They profited handsomely
by shorting the market and merrily riding the elevator all the way down

As long as the shutdown is on no pay day for Congress let them fill the pain of the 800.000 that are out of the job
