How did you come to this conclusion: "It was white Conservative men who died by the tens of thousands after charging into our southern states to free our black brothers from the slavery imposed on them by the Liberal left"? What on earth are you talking about? This is not just revisionist history, this is down the rabbit hole. And this is even weirder: "We were the ones who acknowledged that women have a right to vote. We held the line in WWI and charged the beaches of Normandy in WWII." White Conservatives alone did all this? But you're not racist? You do not identify specifically with "white...male...Republican" and that is all you have touted as the basis of your rant? Curious.

Did he say it was White Conservatives and...and...and...anyone else? No. Also, there is his absurd claim that it was the "Liberal Left" who imposed slavery, suggesting that it was Conservatives that opposed and fought slavery. It was not. When we study history, we have to be careful not to take things out of their proper context or to project our current expectations onto it. When we look at Abolitionists we might want to imagine them as modern liberals, but don’t. What it meant to be a Conservative or Liberal in 1859 is quite different from today. Conservatives in 1831 tried and convicted Nat Turner, a Virginian slave of leading a slave revolt. His punishment? Turner was hanged, skinned, dismembered, and his body parts were distributed souvenirs to the family of his victims. I don’t even think Ted Cruz would do that to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Liberals in 1859 believed that slavery was a moral wrong but rarely went so far as to consider enslaved Africans equal to Whites. Even John Brown did not see Blacks as equal, though considered radically left.

He was criticizing Don Lemon's absurd rant and rightly so. I never saw any democrat denounce what Lemon said. I hope some did and I just missed it.

Looking at his criticism in light of Lemon's rant its not implied that white conservatives where the only ones. As far as who imposed slavery its not owned by the left or right. Both are guilty.

Thursday, November 1, 2018 ― Former US Navy SEAL, Ephraim Mattos, has responded to comments made by Don Lemon on CNN’s Cuomo Prime Time.
“We have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them.” ― Don Lemon on CNN (October 29, 2018)
Here is Mattos’ response:
After surviving three wars, a gunshot wound, a near fatal drowning, a failed parachute, Taliban ambushes, ISIS snipers, mortars, mine-fields, suicide bombers and laying down my life for the cause of freedom while fighting shoulder-to-shoulder with my brother Arabs, Asians, Blacks, Hispanics, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Animists, and Atheists, I have now returned home to the USA where a CNN host has labeled me as a radicalized right wing terrorist simply because of my gender and the color of my skin.
I represent just one of the hundreds of thousands of conservative white men who have fought to preserve freedom in this great Nation and in other nations.
My forefathers are the 3% who founded this Republic against the might of the British Army. It was white Conservative men who died by the tens of thousands after charging into our southern states to free our black brothers from the slavery imposed on them by the Liberal left. We were the ones who acknowledged that women have a right to vote. We held the line in WWI and charged the beaches of Normandy in WWII. We have fought for freedom and liberty for generations and we continue to do so today alongside all of our brothers and sisters regardless of their race or religion. In the early 1930s, Hitler said the same thing about the Jews that Don Lemon of CNN just said about white men This is the true face of the Democratic Party. First they enslaved and killed blacks, and now they use them to spew hatred and lies against the very people who have fought for generations to free them and uplift them.
Remember that when you vote.
One final thought: To make a point, I have referred to myself as a “white male” in the previous sentences multiple times, but I must make it clear that I identify as simply “American,” not as “white” or “male” or “Republican.”
Although blatantly racist and hateful, do not let Don Lemon’s ignorant words drive you into viewing yourself only by your race and religion. Identity politics does not lead to freedom. It only leads to hatred and division and an “us vs. them” mentality.
If CNN does not fire Don Lemon, it only goes to show that they are truly the “enemy of the people.”
― Ephraim Mattos, Former US Navy SEAL

Bravo Canuckus. I'm pissed and going to unload; then disappear. Before Obama made the seine I always said the worse Pres ever was Abe Lincoln. He didn't end slavery, it was on it's way out already. The slave owners were finding that buying, housing and supporting people was more expensive than cheap labor. I oppose slavery in any form. I also oppose Lincoln's actions that allowed a civil war. He not only allowed it he caused it. I read that he hated blacks and was going to ship all blacks back to Africa but was shot and killed before he could. The history books have the white man as the oppressor of the black man. Bullshit, it was the black man selling the black man to the slave traders and it was the white people dying during the civil war. A very vicious and cruel war I might add. The big losers were the whites. I have many friends whom are black and I don't hate any race, but to listen to people call me racist just because I'm white is starting to piss me off. I had nothing to do with slavery nor will I. As I said before, I oppose slavery in any form including company towns which is a legal form of slavery. It's legal because the enslaved are willing participants; their choice. Enough said. Good night to all.

Indeed... There were many africans involved in the slave trade... As well as slavery being an established practice in that part of the world long before the Americas were ever discovered by europeans...
And (from my understanding) the country of Liberia owes its origins to Lincoln's desire to rid America of its newly freed black citizens...
It has been explained to me far too many times , and ith far too much condecension , how the color of my skin makes me complicit in racism...
I am not , Nor do I have any desire to be , racist...
Although I do have racist friends and respect their right to believe as they will...
Slavery of any sort is distasteful...

I quite enjoyed your rant and wish you a Happy New Year...

CNN will not fire Lemon because he falls into two "privileged" groups: he is a black, homosexual male (with a white "partner") and CNN DOES practice identity politics!

One of the best posts I’ve read on OPP. You are right on the money. Problem is, a liberal reads your post, and walks away confused, when to a conservative reads it, it makes all the sense in the world.
