United States Senator John McCain, in Kiev on Friday, pledged to help send an array of armaments, ranging from combat infantry rifles to anti-tank weapons, to Ukraine as quickly as possible.

Ukraine’s military is largely poorly trained, but McCain pointed to the looming Russian troops as enough reason to help the country defend itself, Boston Herald reported.

“Would you like them to throw rocks?” said McCain, a hawkish Republican from Arizona. “If that’s what they’re literally begging for, why should we judge whether we give it to them or not?”

Can we send McCain and Boehner and McConnel along with them? Oh hell send all of the democrats also and anyone that is considered a RINO and give us a chance to refresh our congress and get this country back on its feet again.

Its' BUSINESS....GAS PIPELINE GAS BUSINESS TO SUPPLY EUROPE WITH ITS ENERGY NEEDS FOR THE NEXT 100 YEARS. It's all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ profits and Ukraine oil pumping facilities.

Absolutely! With the wars winding down, we MUST find a new market for our weapons. If we do not, there will be considerably less money given for campaign purposes, from the defense industry. The NRA cannot fund this all by themselves.

McCain and his hawkish proposals are as passé as high button tennis shoes.
The guy should have been put out to pasture decades ago.

I guess he doesn't know that he lost the election. It sort of looks like he is acting as our President now and directing foreign affairs. I guess he figured if Carter get away with it all these years, he should to. Carter never got over the fact that he lost his second term and I guess McCain can't get over the fact that he lost his first run. Now he is taking it on himself to arm a military that could never fight the Russians and even come close to winning. That's a good way for Russia to get their hands on our tanks and guns.

Maybe if Obama would just keep his nose out of other people's affairs they could settle this without a war. Obama is trying to steal their gas supply anyway and he is starting to show his hand. Maybe we should just impeach him so he will no longer pose a threat to other nations. Next thing you know he will be helping the Muslims in the area take over the country.

I'm in favor of sending all the war pimps to the Crimea, regardless of whether they are Republican or Democrat. We should have sent all the war pimps to Baghdad, during the last Iraq war.

actually, that was previous administrations. And like we want this dispute over a territory that was placed in the Ukraine in 1918 by the Western Powers, much like Yugoslavia was put together by the Western Powers in 1918. And we all know how swimmingly well that turned out.

Look at historic maps and read some history on the region-the Crimea has never been part of the Ukraine until it was forced there in 1918, and where it stayed for only four years. In 1992, the Crimea came close to again asking to be independent, but chose to be an AUTONOMOUS region of the Ukraine.

autonomous: 1.having the right or power to self government. 2.existing, or capable of existing independently. 3. Responding, reacting or developing independent of the whole.

Merriam Websters Tenth Edition.

Yeah, send them the stuff already, McCain is honorable and knows that diplomacy can only go so far. Kiev needs some minimum deterrent other than international criticism and sanctions to get Russia to at least take a moment to reconsider the consequences of thinking about a Ukraine take over. Apparently, Crimea want out of the Ukraine economic disaster but this shouldn't be an invitation for Russia to claim everything else governed by Kiev.
