[quote=emarine][quote=padremike]I've had a life, a very good life. In fact I'm nearing the end of this life so why do you suggest I get another? I'm not judging anything except the abject lunacy health plan that is called Obamacare. I'm not opposed to judging bad behavior, right and wrong, good and evil, but I'm not allowed to condemn anyone to hell although there are a few of you Progressives who gleefully condemn yourselves so why should anyone else bother?

It's actually funny being lectured on life by a Progressive whose philosophy is death to both themself and their country.

Medicare is also paid for by taxes on wages.
I understand Medicare and Medicaid are not the same thing, but both are paid for with TAX money.
Just in the last couple of years has Medicare deductions been deducted from workers wages.
I am against unnecessary taxes but this is an investment not a tax.

"The Medicare program and its corresponding tax has been around since President Lyndon B. Johnson."

The best part is, with the exchange you're both receiving the benefits.
Go out and enjoy the day! and try not to be too cynical

Ha ha ha ha ha. O.k. I stand corrected. Nurse Janis smiled when she gave me my 04:00 hours shot. Sgt. Major still salutes instead of a handshake, watched God's beautiful sunrise from the eastern porch.
Enjoyed a good Cuban cigar and several cups of hot coffee. My old faithful tomcat asleep in my lap. Discussed plans for the days work with the men. Orders for Christmas trees are already coming in.
Finally got the corn crop in the barn. Monday the negro families will be coming to kill the hogs for smoking and processing.
More orders for bales of pine straw due to the unseasonable cold snap. Busy, busy, busy here on the tree farm. Just a typical day for us.
God bless.
Someone needs to explain to me why the party who boasts pro-capitalism and free market trade hasn't yet created an interstate buying market for health insurance, or a competitive world market for pharmaceuticals.

The program has been around that long and social security has been deducted from pay checks but the tax you spoke of is something new.

No matter how many times you say that, the stats don't add up!

Please explain. My comment was that just saying "If we were to take away insurance cost and put it to universal healthcare it would pay for itself" doesn't make it true. Your "dividends" matter how?

If "all" Americans including the Military & Fed employees were one large pool & cost reductions were applied to the Medical industry similar to how BCBS pays claims we could have single payer at a minimal cost... if our Gov officials wound just sit down & work on it is another story...

What tax was it that I "spoke" of? I was only speaking of the Medicare tax and it has been around since Medicare began.
