Fox is looking ahead and doing a preemptive strike in case a future Democrat President wants to boot one of its reporters. Fox cares nothing about Acosta.

I am not as disappointed as you may be. When the WH withdrew Acosta's pass, did they reach out to CNN and let them know that they are not banned, but only Acosta due to his behavior? This should have been the first action the WH took even before banning Acosta. During that conversation, the WH could have tested the water. If the WH suspected that CNN would react badly, then the WH could have issued a 'limited' access badge to Acosta which would ensure that he could not gain front row access and then the President could effectively ignore his hand being raised to pose a question and he would be close enough to the door to be quietly escorted out if he raised a fuss.... all on video. During the conversation...the WH should have requested CNN to replace Acosta or even send a second representative..... then the WH could call on the second CNN reporter while giving Acosta the cold shoulder....

If they did not reach out to CNN, that was a tactical error. While it is true, the WH can bar a reporter but the WH can not bar an entire media such as CNN. All CNN has to do is present a case that the WH barred CNN and they will succeed in limiting the power of the WH to evict those that are as obnoxious and overbearing as Acosta. It all depends on what was said by SS when Acosta tried to reenter the WH later that day.

My thought... sometimes President Trump reacts too quickly. He, and his advisors, should have slept on this for the night and cooled down. When a person reacts..... they become weak and gives their opponent an upper hand. If something makes you respond emotionally....it is time to take a step back, check sources, and then be clear and succinct with word choices.

Come on Pennylynn, if that was the first time Acosta was a dickhead,then i agree with you..But this however was not the first time...Acosta showed himself to be a prick time after time ever since Trump became President..He is rude,obnaxious asshole who deserves to be banned from the White House Im surpised it didnt happen sooner...Besides,WH didnt ban the whole CNN ,April Ryan is still there although i think she is just as bad!!!

He was asking a perfectly legitimate question, one I'm sure a dozen other reporters wanted answered. A reporter is not a prick because he reasks a deflected question in another way.

Reporters are like sharks when they smell the blood of scandal in the water, we all know Trump has an inordinate fear and loathing of sharks.

You hit the nail! CNN, along with the other MSM outlets, tried their darnedest to sway Americans from voting for Trump. They mocked him and criticized him continuously. All during the Obama years, whenever there was a press conference, it was an unwritten "rule" that CNN's Acosta would be the first reporter to ask questions. At the first press conference held right after Trump won, Sean Spicer intentionally chose several reporters before he called on Acosta. Acosta was pissed and whined to whoever would listen that he was always the first chosen to ask questions. Ever since that day, Acosta has had it out for Trump. For two years now at every single presser, Acosta has antagonized Trump and his staff. Acosta doesn't even wait to be called on any more - he just shouts out over anyone else who is speaking now. When Spicer left, Acosta continued on with Sarah Sanders. This last fiasco was the straw that broke the camel's back for Trump. Trump has had enough of Acosta's antics.

If Acosta is allowed back at the White House briefings and conferences, all he will do is yell, out of turn, and continue the circus he has created. CNN has plenty more people they can send to attend these events.

I am not arguing that Acosta should not have been banned because of his actions. No doubt in my mind that he and the loud mouthed black woman need to be replaced. Rather than his or her bad behavior, the focus is on if the President's action could be a violation of freedom of press. That is the issue.... not Acosta per say. Had they reached out to CNN and asked for a different correspondent, then CNN would not have a law suite.
