Much of what is happening to the land in the €”world’s fifth largest economy”€ is a direct consequence of the ridiculous environmental and planning policies it has imposed on itself and tries to impose on the rest of us.

Sure, we have sympathy - but we are also very well aware that Californians have shot themselves in both feet with the politicians they have elected an yet they expect the rest of us taxpayers to bear a big part of the costs of containment and rebuilding.

Idaho has fire problems too, some of the problems arise directed from environmental policies and environmental activists exported from California to our state.

Some good friends of mine are loggers and when a fire got started near I-90 on National Forest land, they mobilised their own equipment and staff to cut a fire break and stop the fire in its tracks. Note, they did not harvest or steal any lumber - just stopped the fire, which otherwise would have spread to destroy nearby communities.

They came within a whisker of getting prosecuted because Forest Service policy now is to let forests just burn.

Until we get sense and reason restored in the US - which by and large means reversing policies promoted by the East and West Coasts - sympathy could start to wane.

That’€™s even before we get into the “conspiracy theories”€ of geoengineering and social engineering to bring about Agenda 21 (another Californian export).
Perhaps you could better understand that Californi... (show quote)

CA tells Trump to "stay the hell out of our business" when it comes to Sanctuary City/State decisions and more recently when it comes to odd election events (Florida-esque late counting of ballots) BUT basically demand Federal help for the fire situation. Now the right thing to do would be to help them, but the right thing to do would also be to NOT steal these elections. I'm just sayin'.

Noted so what would you do if you were President?

I’d cut em’ off flat out and then move the Fed and Authorities in to raid Sacramento and arrest all the officials and begin investigations for Fraud, Thievery and such.

DON'T MISS STORIES. FOLLOW RAW STORY!

Kim Kardashian and Lady Gaga were among thousands fleeing their homes on Friday as a fast-moving wildfire engulfed Malibu and nearby celebrity neighborhoods.

Kardashian, who on Thursday evacuated the home she shares in nearby Calabasas with Kanye West, tweeted on Friday that she “heard the flames have hit our property… but now are more contained and have stopped.”

The entire 12,000-strong population of Malibu, which stretches 27 miles (43.5 km) along the Pacific Ocean in Southern California and up into the Santa Monica mountains, was placed under mandatory evacuation on Friday as the Woolsey fire exploded overnight.

The City of Malibu’s Twitter account said the fire was burning out of control.

Malibu and Calabasas are home to hundreds of celebrities and entertainment executives attracted by its ocean views, rolling hills and large, isolated estates. Current and former residents include Barbra Streisand, Tom Hanks, Judd Apatow and Britney Spears.

Celebrity website TMZ reported that the Malibu home of Caitlyn Jenner, America’s best-known transgender activist, was destroyed by the flames on Friday. Her publicist could not confirm the status of her house, but told Reuters that Jenner was safe.

Residents posted pleas on social media for help evacuating horses and other large animals, while long lines of traffic clogged the only coastal highway in and out of Malibu.

Cher, who said she had lived in Malibu since 1972, tweeted that the wildfire was coming close to her home, although she said she was not on the property.

“Friends houses have burned. I can’t bear the thought of there being no Malibu,” the singer posted.

Lady Gaga posted a video on her Instagram account saying she had evacuated her Malibu home on Friday, and showing images of dark billowing smoke overhead.

Movie director Guillermo del Toro tweeted that he had abandoned his vast “Bleak House” museum collection of fantasy and horror memorabilia.

“Bleak House and the collection may be endangered but the gift of life remains,” tweeted del Toro, director of Oscar best picture winner “The Shape of Water.”

The Malibu area is also home to dozens of filming locations. One of them, the Western Town at Paramount Ranch where television series “Westworld” is filmed, was destroyed, according to the Santa Monica Mountains Twitter account.

The mansion used to shoot “The Bachelor” TV series was “in grave danger,” ABC television executive Robert Mills posted on Twitter.

Alyssa Milano, a leading force in the #MeToo social movement against sexual harassment, asked for help getting five horses out of the area and said she had taken her “kids, dogs, computer and my Doc Marten boots.”

Rainn Wilson, former star of “The Office,” singer Melissa Etheridge, and Roma Downey, the wife of “The Apprentice” producer Mark Burnett, all said they had scrambled to evacuate at short notice.

They are reaping what the tree huggers have own and now they don't like the results. If they would have cleaned out the underbrush and cut fire breaks along the way they could have contained the fires that are now destroying CA. But the tree huggers said no and here they are.

I don't think you can cut them off completely. You've still got a lot of good conservative folks there who haven't been able to leave that s//thole or are too stubborn to do so and hope they can swing the pendulum the other way. But I would definitely make certain that the citizenship question is on the 2020 census. I'd also pay extra attention (via ICE) to find and deport as many illegals as I could in the state. I'd charge and prosecute ANYONE who in an official capacity (politician or judge) put the "rights" of illegals ahead of legal citizens if the law allowed such prosecution. And I'd do the research in federal and CA state law and prosecute anything I found (especially related to voter fraud). You have to be careful not to infringe on states rights, but if we just enforced the laws on the books and prosecuted those guilty of breaking those laws it would go a long way to getting CA to stop thumbing their noses at the rest of us - except of course when they have their hands out, like they do now.

They tried - Kootenai County hired a California trained consultancy to written a huge new set of planning rules and it was wonderful to see the people rise up and say no. It was based on Agenda 21 sustainability stuff.

They held a meeting to tell people about the proposed rules and so many residents showed up, frothing, they had to schedule a follow on meeting and eventually the document got rejected in total and the consultants fired. Scrapped.

Generated so much bad feeling that the County is pretty boxed in by residents now. They can’t do anything without a wide awake citizenry pouring over every dotted I and crossed T. The currently approved position is that no one outside of an incorporated township is required to file any plans for planning approval and can build what they like (residential) without needing any permits or inspections.

It probably won’t last, but I couldn’t have been prouder of my neighbors!

Indeed, that’s the way we’re suppose to fight on every point. Everyday, every week, month and year because if the people dont show up and Bitch about it, they ScrewTapes will run over you all... your own elected officials who live amongst you become Traitors to your Ethos and Rights.

My God what serious trouble we’re in today.

The president is a negotiator. Give him a proposal to help the little folks and let the millionaires pay their own reconstruction.

Instead of funnelling aid through the corrupt CA politicians, let people apply for Federal assistance personally.

Apparently CA purposely cut their budget for all sorts of fire suppression programs up to and including stopping the use of prison inmates to cut brush along the roadsides etc.

So one of the ways to handle that is full disclosure - declassification of any documents the Feds hold that show those decisions being made in CA. The NSA must have a huge volume of texts and phone conversations and emails that could illuminate the citizenry on who is really at fault. Then enable (somehow) citizens who have been harmed to sue officials personally, and pursue them for criminal liabilities, up to and including premeditated murder.

Let’s see some real and legitimate accountability go down.

And also move any court cases out of CA, so fair trials take place.

I can agree to that also, it’s just criminal legislating and thievery to compensate for their Pension liabilities in the 100’s of Billions.

But the fires are a result of climate change, scream the "environmentalists" (the quote marks are for the irony of them adopting that moniker). But how do explain how most of the "climate change" seems to be centered in CA?? States that manage their forests don't seem to have the same kind of problems, and when fires do occur they are usually handled relatively quickly. But it's global warming oops, I mean climate change, dammit!

Those people in Malibu don't believe in God, maybe now they are calling for God's help.

They think they are the most powerful. Nothing is powerful than the wrath or mercy of God.
Being humble and depending on God makes you feel good, and God accelerates you.
But most of those in mansions and Hollywood, don't know God, but their luxury and wealth.

I had a similar thought. LOL! Or, maybe Gawd is punishing them for their leftist views which are so contradictory of what we read in Gawd's word.
