Once again, more votes were cast form Democrats than Republicans in the 2018 for national offices in the midterms And once again our representatives to the US House will be 10-3 for Republicans.

You can do the math right here: https://www.politico.com/election-results/2018/north-carolina/

The link also shows just how concentrated the Democratic votes were in those three districts. And how the Democrats in the other 10 districts simply do not have a chance. Cracking and packing at it's best.

So good, in fact, that the districts used have been ruled unconstitutional by federal courts. Often. For a history and run down : https://www.newsobserver.com/news/politics-government/article217419880.html

And not just on the national level. The state districts are so gerrymandered that a small advantage at the state level for Republican has turned into a veto proof majority until this past election. Some question whether NC is a democracy at all: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/north-carolina-not-democracy-elections-cuba-iran-venezuela-gop-a7494561.html

I'm sure that some of you out there are good with this state of affairs. It's politics. And that's fine....but here's the thing. All it does is radicalize me. It tells me that your partisanship trumps your sense of fair play and that gets internalized.

So much so, I'm fine behind my blue wall. As the country divides into into it's urban and rural split, I'm glad to let the red team have the acreage. And since you insist on calling me a socialist, I'm learning to embrace that also. American socialism has a nice ring to it and applies almost naturally to urban and suburban areas. City dwellers have to think about how to live with others and that does develop social awareness.

NC, like the nation, is urbanizing and diversifying and that gives me comfort and hope. The Dems will wrest power again from the Reps in NC and it will be from the left. Because that's what election fraud does....it radicalizes folks like me and millions of others.

And when you complain....just politics, man.

How about real voter fraud that is taking place in Florida and Texas?

Cite some sources for you accusation. Recounts are a part of politics. What's so nefarious?

Are you implying that the elections in NC are not 'real' election fraud?

Everbody bitching about gerrymandering.....both parties are guilty, and you know it.
Now, about your radicalization......
Did you go out in the middle of the night, and put a dead chicken on the exaust manifold of a county judge who ran unopposed as a red team member who you can't stand?

Well, me either. I screwed up, and mentioned my plan to my wife. But I had the thought....

Do you have those thoughts?
If not, get with me, and maybe I can help you along. It's not hard. Just keep your mouth shut, disguise yourself as an Antifa member, and execute your plan!

Sure. Everyone votes for Senators in their own states. You cannot count votes in California towards a Senator in Texas or Florida. By the way, how do you gerrymander a
Senate seat ?

Sorry Mr. Bunker....I had no such plan, nor any thoughts like that. No access to chickens. I am surprised that you had such a plan....LOL.

I do know that both parties are guilty of gerrymandering....however, I used to be worried about it being done by both teams. I will no longer worry about it being done by either team. That is the radicalization. When the wheel turns again and the blue team divides NC, I will no longer worry about fairness to the red team.

Now, back to the chickens....your wife sounds like a sensible woman as she clearly knows chickens are meant for frying in oil, not dry baking. You are a lucky man.

Since I made the post about NC and we did not have a senator to elect I did not claim that senators are gerrymandered. Red herring...that's what you threw out. How about dealing with the real numbers? I put them up for you in the first link.

Is it ok by you to draw districts that yield such results? If not, what makes it so hard to say so?

I'm not a fan of our two party system at all. They have such a tight grip on everything that no third, or forth party can gain any traction, and without a doubt, they no longer represent all of the people.

My deepest apologies. I mixed you up with another. Somebody posted something on OPP about how Democrats cast millions more votes for Democratic Senators and yet lost Senate seats. Which is a false and stupid argument. Senate seats go by votes in particular states.

It is sad that North Carolina Republicans feel that they have to gerrymander: it tells one that they KNOW that they cannot win by simply taking the majority of the North electorate in a fair contest!

An honest contest with a Democrat would be impossible because of the gerrymandered districts set by the Republicans. The Court stated that those districts set up gives the Republicans an UNFAIR (therefore Dishonest ) advantage to Republicans!
