Consider the source. I have the perfect pix, just for Brian. I wish I could modify it, to read that Brian has nothing to worry about...........but,

There is much I can and will endure. I have literally read 80% of Brian's commentary. To date, he has yet to post a single positive commentary about the country in which he resides. Every country, Australia, Denmark, France, Switzerland , etc. are countries we should model ourselves after. He has had zero positive to say about the individuals who wrote our founding documents. He consistently can only focus on the negatives of our history. Only California is good. When it is suggested he may be happier elsewhere, it is others who should leave. I will freely admit last evening I was quite rude to him. I insulted his daughters today. I should not have spoken about his daughters. It was not correct behavior and something I would call others out on.

He is still a POAC.

I am sure that frustration has a lot to do with your comments. You apologized for the remarks about his daughters, it is up to him to accept it with some grace. If not, oh well! Brian has been on many of the posts where I was active and ordinarily, I too try to be civil, but he has gotten on my last nerve to the point that I abandoned the topic. I think that is his goal, to disrupt any conversations and force anyone with whom he and his friends do not agree. Well, too bad. I will not run from him again.

His remark to you was just over the top. I could not sit by and condone by tolerating his abuse to you. Right or wrong, I defend those that I feel are being bullied. He had already extracted an apology. Should have left it at that.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) considers gun homicides an important enough health issue that they keep tabs on those numbers.

Last year there were 11,078 such deaths. Many of us would definitely like a Surgeon General who is conscientious enough to not ignore those numbers nor treat them in a cavalier fashion.

President Obama should be applauded for his choice. Let's see how many senators are brave enough to stand up to the NRA bullying.

You must be a complet and totally out of you ideybity idiotic mind,do you really know what a surgeon general realy is,and it has nothing to with gun control. You must be really phsyco.well lets see how many will stand up for this rabid anti-gun AS*&%le.I really do hope all your liberals senators do stand up for him.Just think come this Nov. an see just how many will still be in the senate what a losser you are, Oh thats right your a stupid brainwashed/braindead liberal.OH did you just smell what your dog did on your lawn.OMG that sooo & toooo much BS,you'd better get the snow shovell for that.

Okay, MSNBC is left of center. I listen to Progress Radio on satellite radio as well as the Patriot radio. CNN is a little bit left of center, but nothing like Fox radio is to the right. Nothing is so hateful to me as Rush and his legions of ditto heads, and other far right personalities.

Then change the station. Unless someone is forcing you at gun point to listen to FOX, you have free will..........don't listen to them.

I feel its my responsibility to hear both sides of an issue. I do often turn off Fox after a short time.

Then stop complaining about what they say, you chose to listen. Take it for what it is worth. I turned on Communist News Network aka CNN, Not Better Complainer aka NBC, and so on.........when they start telling out and out lies to make Obama and company look good........well, I either listen or change the channel because NO ONE FORCES anyone to listen to lies.

***********************

After some TEa Party rally in Washington DC. Fox put out an ad claiming that none of the other networks or cable new outlets covered it, including CNN. A photo of the rally was used in a full-page aid Faux used to make this claim

A CNN anchor noted that CNN actually devoted more time to the event and actually traveled with some of those coming from out West to the event.

And Faux used a CNN file photo for their photo in the ad claiming CNN and the others didn't cover the event.

The CNN anchor said: "We covered it. Most news media covered it. We didn't promote it like Fox did. That's the difference."

Faux lies and lies frequently. Even when caught at their lies, they deny it. It is less a news media outlet than the propaganda arm of the far-rhgt fringe of the Republican Party.

In a interview with Jon Stewart, Fox "news" man chris Matthews made a telling commit. "We tell the other side. of the story."

Other side? I thought Faux was "fair and balanced."????

And repeated polls have shown the Faux "News" viewers are wrong about basic information, sort of like a special ed civics class.

Strangely, viewers of comedy shows like Stewarts and Colberts fair much better is a basic news quiz.

I've seen that right here on this forum. One hyper-right poster claimed that amending the Constitution would allow term limits to be imposed on state and municipal judges and other non-federal elected officials. Not true.

Or the canard that "Fox is number one in the nation."

Faux is number one in cable news channels. Network news, CBS and ABC, each have a viewing audience larger each broadcast than all cable channels combined.

When the comedians come through with the truth more often than "fair and balanced" maybe the "fair and balanced" ain't so fair and balanced. More like : "Throw it against the wall and se what sticks."

I get my news from a variety of sources. I'm not one big on TV, but I do watch Fox when I'm at my inlaws-they watch it all the time. They're both very smart people who have had long, distinguished careers. But the are just taken in by Fox. Go figure.

I'll check out what Stewart and Colbert shows the next day on the Internet, but that's not a regular thing.

NPR and the BBC are probably my two biggest news sources. Newspapers from Asia also seem to have some pretty interesting stuff. I buy the Sunday New York Times simply because of the amount of print in it. It takes me a few days to get through half of it.

But one source? No, that leads to tunnel vision.

What's with your knew avatar ginny? have you decided to Go Ape on us?

No news is unbiased to include NPR and BBC. They put out the news as they are paid to do. If their audience is Left, then they play up the good things from the Left, if Right then they play up the Right. Overseas news is the same, if they support whatever, then it is the best thing after the invention of tea and crumpets. Think about it. If you have a large audience, they pay your salary so would you offend them??
