They are only legal immigrants if admitted as asylum seekers. Once admitted, they are only legal until they have exhausted the appeals process. There are a range of disqualifications as well that can make them ineligible to be an asylum seekers, and can prevent them from being admitted, or from continuing the appeals process.

They are not immediately eligible for admission simply by turning up on the doorstep.

What you fail to appreciate is that if they are seeking asylum, they are required to apply for asylum in the first safe country they reach - Mexico in this case. If they do not do so, the US is not obligated to admit them.

Also under the international treaties that the US is party to, they can be detained indefinitely while their cases await a hearing. Detention, is not the same thing as being in jail.

Refugees who ask for asylum at an official point of entry before entering the U.S. cannot be released on bond. Instead, ICE officials have full discretion to decide whether they can be released.

Add to that, the congressional approved annual quota for refugees has already been exhausted.

These paid "refugees" are walking, (or rather riding in Soros funded vehicles,) right past asylum centers set up for them to register for asylum. They don't stop and register because they know they don't qualify. Also the majority of these invaders are military aged MEN, not women and children, they are window dressing, then there are the MS-13 gang members and terrorists embedded within this multi-thousand people invasion. How I long for the days when Ellis island was used to quarantine immigrants to stop the spread of unchecked diseases. People used to bring skills and were willing to work and assimilate. Not this group of invaders coming here for all the “free” things.
I hope “your” next generation teaches you their language, how would you feel if they barged into your home and demanded you give them everything you worked for? Seems like every time a large scale event such as the organized Kavanaugh confirmation circus and now this organized "refugee" rush to the U.S. border goes down, George Soros is lurking nearby with his check book.

He has outright said in interviews that undermining the U.S. economy, devaluing the dollar and making America a "drag" on the global economy is a necessary step in achieving what he calls, verbatim, a "new world order."

This is what every last Democrat in this country is rooting/voting for, whether they, as individuals, realize it or not.
