I’m not about to suggest the trade war has nothing to do with the recent drop. But to act as the sky is falling is, well, typical snowflake meltdown. When you have a market that has risen to new highs as now, an economy heating up and a rise in interest rates a downturn of 5 or even 10 % is expected. Simple profit taking is also involved. You jokes Crack me up. Trump gets no credit from you for a booming market but let it drop and you guys blame him and celebrate. Keep rooting against America. Reminds people just what POS you guys are. .

J,

it is not America that trump gifted.. The market is booming and the less then half of Americans who are invested should be happy.

the rest of America who work for a paycheck can do nothing but have hope that for once in history, trickle down will work..

It will not, never has, never will...

But that is all the working/middle class got from this orange degenerate con man.. Why love the one who is ruining your child future??

You know their is no such thing as trickle down economics. It was a disparaging way to describe supply side economics. By all economic standards it was a success during Reagan's presidency. If we look at jobs created, unemployment and GDP. The big knock on the Reagan years was the debt. Huge buildup under Reagan and very costly. Even the Russians admit it was Reagan's policies that bankrupted the old Soviet Union. We can argue all day if it was worth it. I believe about 54% of people are involved in the market one way or another. Pensions are going away and being replaced by 401K's. You want the working man to have a better preforming 401K? Make the ass hats in Washington have one instead of a pension. As far as wealth trickling down. It can. Poverty sure doesn't trickle up. Trump is foolish for touting the market. Any president who does is a fool just because of the nature of the market over time. I was for the tax cuts with caveats. I would have targeted them in such away that corporations receiving them had to agree to no stock buy backs. I would have also put in them for every dollar in tax cuts that $.10 be taken from every Federal Program per dollar including the military bureaucracy. Mostly in the form of personnel reduction. You tell me what has worked? Hint, Don't use economic models that were used during the greatest manufacturing expansion in American History. It's a new world.

Thank you. The point I was going to make. Never before had the Fed kept interest rates so artificially low and printed trillions at the same time as they did under Obama. His entire regime was propped up by the FED. and still had anemic growth.

Propped it up on Monopoly money. LOL!

Not much in your post to disagree with.. the Soviet Unions did not collapse in only a few years, it took consistent action by all the past administrations, back to maybe Truman or Ike..

the "star wars" of Reagan may have been the straw that broke the camels back..

tax cuts... I do not know.. I do not think they were needed.. little left to be used in the next economic collapse.

You point out some good possibilities that would have improved the tax bill..

Trump used to brag and take credit for the stock market daily, but the president has gone quiet as the market is dropping and his trade war is one of the reasons why.

CNBC’s Ron Insana told Ali Velshi of MSNBC, “A combination of things. As you rightly point out, the trade war will slow the economy. China has slowed down dramatically. Their markets down 30% from the recent peak. We are seeing weakness in the China economy, the global economy, and we have seen housing and auto go lower amid fears those two sectors at home slow down. You add to that rising rates, worries about a trade war, price pressures, tariffs put prices higher for a lot of goods, and wide number of influences that have upset the market. The trade war could affect the third quarter — third-quarter profits that they report tomorrow. If those are disappointing, another factor that could restrain stocks in the days and weeks ahead.” Trump is blaming the FED, but dropping market is also his mess
Everyone knew that the Federal Reserve was going to be hiking interest rates, because they are worried about inflation, and the economy overheating. Interest rates were too low, so Trump’s blaming of the Federal Reserve is disingenuous, because while the market was going to react negatively to interest rate hikes, Trump and the Republican Party made the situation worse by cutting taxes for corporations, and launching a trade war that is impacting the domestic and global economy.
The trade war is backfiring, and instead of taking ownership of his boneheaded policies that are harming the economy, Trump is looking for someone else to blame. It is going to be hard for Trump to claim that America is winning when the country is staring down a recession in two years, but that is where things are heading in part due to Trump’s trade war.

I guess the stock market di-int have no bad days under the Obama ? I do not worry about daily swings in the market. If it bothers you, you should keep your money in your mattress. This latest correction is partly due to Trump's China policies. Your Obama never had the guts to confront China on their terrible trade practices because he couldn't weather the pain. Most of this present pain stems from the over aggressive rate hikes of the Federal Reserve, but I am sorry to bewilder you with facts.

Your party's obsession with Putin and Russia is comical. The only reason Putin is a problem is because of Obama's incompetence in dealing with him. Trump simply does not waste that much time and energy on him because he knows the real long term threat to America is China. Russia gives us short term problems but their economy will not let them hurt us that much. China have the economy, the brains, and the political will to be our main enemy for the rest of the 21st century. Trump is willing to take the economic and political hit to try to deal with China that your Dear Leader Obama lacked or di-int even think of.

Exactly, the market has never been static but fluctuates with many variables. However this concept is foreign to most socialist democrats.

Son, you are so uninformed...

President Obama.. laid some very focused tariffs on China.. these put iron miner back to work in Minnesota and probably Michigan..

President Obama chose the TPP as the best weapon to fight the economic hold China has on us..

The republicans fought that tooth and nail.. then the orange fool, ended it completely..

Why.. Well trump did have that huge trade mark deal with China, that made both himself and his daughter happy..
