Before he went to work for Fusion GPS, Steele was already working on his dossier. Judicial Watch (JW) has received more heavily redacted documents and they point to the fact that Steele was being paid by the Obama administration BEFORE he hired on with Fusion GPS.

These documents were turned over in August and JW has been poring over them and found that Steele received 11 payments from the government. Sara cCarterhad previously reported that Steele had been working on the dossier, earlier than was originally thought.

Sara Carter reported in February 2018 that Steele began compiling information on candidate Trump before being hired by Fusion GPS and the Democrat National Committee and Clinton Campaign [emphasis added] –

… [Senators] Grassley and Graham noted that “there is substantial evidence suggesting that Mr. Steele materially misled the FBI about a key aspect of his dossier efforts, one which bears on his credibility.”The pair of lawmakers also allege that Steele was compiling information on Trump and his campaign before being hired by now embattled research firm Fusion GPS, which was paid by the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton Campaign for his work.

What conspiracy theorist did you get this line of garbage from. First of all of the Steele Dossier has been verified that most of it is true. The only thing lacking is the pee tape.

Steele passed raw intel to the FBI in July of 2016. The FBI had no reason to ignor Steele he had been sharing intel with the FBI for 20 years. When they FBI received this raw intel they had to do there own investigation to verify it. That’s why it never came out. Oh and by the way Carter Page was under investigation with the FISA. WARRENT long before the FBI received the Raw data from Steele. So when the FBI went back to renew the FISA WARRENT they incorporated the Steele Dossier and the FISA WARRENT shows the dossier as being a political document.

The FBI found out that a lot of that raw data was verified and it invovled Trump. So Trump had already won the election so the justice department, and the FBI had to inform Trump that this Dossier was out there and what did Trump do he fired the messengers meaning Sally Yates and James Comey. Typical Trump kill the messenger and try to bury the message.

Steele was getting very nervous because he knew about Trump colluding with the Russians, he new about Wikileaks and the stolen Emails. And yet nothing had come out in the press. So he called his contact at the Justice Department that heads monitoring the Russians and his name was Michael Ohr but Trump was still weeks away from being inaugurated so he held onto the info given to him by Steele.

Again and this is where Steele made a mistake the FBI and the Justice Department were investigating his intel in the dossier and Steele went to Buzzfeed and gave them the dossier and on Jan 10th 2017 the dossier was published. So now that Steele broke protocol and he was not admonished, he went to the press and now the FBI can no longer work with him. And they didn’t

So the only time lines are

Late 2015 conservative campaign of Marco Rubio hires Fusion GPS to get dirt on Trump.

Spring of 2016 the contract switches to Clinton because that’s what Fusion GPS does opposition reseach.

June 2016 Fusion GPS hires Michael Steele an x intel agent from the UK.

July and Oct of 2016 Steele briefs the FBI.

November Trump wins the election

Jan 10th Buzzfeed releases the dossier.

Can you imagine what was going on at the FBI and the Justice Department when they found that most of that dossier was true. And now they had to bring it to Trump he fires Comey and Yates appoints Rosenstein, Sessions and FBI Director Christopher Wray. And Rosenstein and Wray find out that most of that dossier was true. Wow

As for the payments to Steele this was for prior intel he did for the FBI. There is abosolutly no evidence that Christopher Steele received any payments for the dossier.

But the full explanation will come out when the Muellar investigation is complete. And boy will the conspiracyvtheorist have fun with that.

Obama directed everything regarding Steele and the dossier. So yes, Obama was seeing to it that Steele was getting paid, very early on, but he had regrets using it to help Clinton, who he actually hates. Literally.
