So far 4 people are dead....Including mother and her small child when tree fell on their house...More then 300 people got rescued so far, more then 100 are still waiting...I dont get these people...President ,Governors of North and South Carolina ..all said NOT to stay, leave..But these stubborn people thought they can ride it out, and had to be rescued..putting the rescuers in danger!!!When people in charge tells you :"Get out NOW!!!"You GET OUT!!!....God bless the rescuers..God bless people on the path of Hurricane Florence!!!Our thoughts and prayers are with you!!!

I hear you on the rescuers.
That is an area chock full of climate deniers like people here who were saying the storm had been downgraded, thereby thinking it wasn't going to be as deadly. These people who stayed should be handed a big ass bill for rescue services.

We have a number of friends in those areas, most with kennels of dogs. they started packing when the predictions got scary and have come north to get away from the threats.. I wouldn't be surprised if a couple come all the way here and we have guests with dogs in a few days.

I got out. Good thing because we had a 40ft surge and I can’t swim. My house was gone along with all the others onn the west side of town. When they say go, pack up and go.
