Fenway Park was the best one in that if you had a uniform on you could sit in any empty seat you found. If the ticket holder showed up we had to move, but so often that just didn't happen.

I wish those type of baseball traditions were carried on, beyond the 50s. Baseball used to be so steeped in tradition. I stopped following it for 2 reasons:

1. I discovered girls

2. The ending of the reserve clause with the Curt Flood case. After that the players knew no loyalty and would change teams, often every few years. I no longer felt that there was a predictable core of players who would come back every year. I didn't want to root for a bunch of uniforms of brand new people.

There was no longer the world of ever-returning players with names like Koufax, Drysdale, Wills, and Snider.

I am 69. I made it to the Polo grounds and met Willie Mays though I do not remember it, yet he was my favorite player. Meeting and getting autographs from the Yankee greats at Yankee stadium was almost a weekly affair. Must have been close to four hundred games from '54 to '64 I attended. If only I had kept those programs and balls. But it was never about that back then.

The fact the the Communist Soviet system that collapsed in 1992. Or the fact that the Communist Party in China is trading with the international capitalists system.

Putin is a kleptocratic oligharcy, not a Communist.

HIs invasion of the Crimea is no different than our invasion of Iraq, except for the fact that the Crimea is attached to Russia.

And the Crimea was never part of the Ukraine, never during more than 1,000 years of it's history, until European leaders placed it in the Ukraine in 1918, where it lasted for four years. And then Joe Stalin placed it in the puppet government of the Ukraine for a few decades.

There are no historic maps that show the Crimea as part of the Ukraine prior to 1918. And we all know how the re-drawing of national lines in 1918 by some western European with a ruler and a pencil worked out.

The Crimea is 58 percent Russian, 23 percent Ukrainian and 14 percent Tartar. It tried to declare independence in 1918, but was stifled by the European powers.

Maybe it should be put up to a vote to see what the people of the Crimea want for their own nation.

Sounds like you had a wonderful childhood. It was great that you got to meet Willie Mays. I met Sandy Koufax, something I will always remember. He was shy and gracious.

My point would have to be that you have never browsed around on the Communist site although you do a wonderful job of progressive comparisons with other groups that most of us don't like. Maybe you should take some trouble and look at that one. I did provide the link, you know.

Sounds like you are far more interested in communism than I am. This is not the 50s. The country has moved on and left you and the right wing behind.

Enlighten me. Koch Brothers. What makes them infamous? I was going to use fellow-traveler and pinko too to get your goat.I hardly think they are avowed Marxists but more like Norman Thomas socialists. Most of the Dems now are Socialists in the sense that they believe in the control if not ownership of the means of production. They are perfectly happy with a mixed economy as long as they are in charge by manipulating the masses to keep them in charge as in China with the Dems head of a one party Democrat controlled State. . I used to see the Brooklyn Dodgers play and in 1956 they did beat the Yankees. A plague on both their houses. I also saw the Boston Braves play before they left for Milwalkee.I was NY Giant fan before they abandoned us for San Francisco. As for the JBS I always found them just too strident and humorless. Like the Left so often is too by the way. But where did all those old Communists go? They certainly did not disappear with the demise of Soviet Communism. The Dems simply assimilated them.Obama was certainly influenced by Marxism but now I think he( as the rest of the Dems) is basically an opportunist manipulating the masses for his own aggrandizement. We all are pawns of a bigger system. I see no ultimate hope in politics.I gave up on politics several years ago and became a Jehovah's Witness. Satan is the ultimate god of this system of things. Anyway you do have a good sense of humor and I appreciate it.

I am actually trying to wean myself a little from politics too, but have been less than successful. My reasons, however have nothing to do with satan or the Jehova's Witnesses. My reasons have to do with becoming tired of corporate vetted presidential nominees.

I won't vote Republican but I also don't want a president who gets $400,000 for two speeches to Goldman Sachs, and can be as war loving and intemperate in her remarks as any Republican. Of course I am referring to Hillary Clinton (D-Wall St).

I find your posts interesting in the fact you claim to be a Jehovah Witness. My mother is a Witness, and it caused my parents to divorce. I was underage, so I had to live with my mother, so I got a daily dose of that religion crammed down my throat, and it made me very rebellious. To this day, I am respectful and courteous to my mother, and phone her at least once a week, but I will have nothing to do with that religion. Now, what I find interesting in your posts is your discussions in politics and patriotism. Especially, when Jehovah Witnesses do not believe in politics, voting, saluting the flag, enlisting in the military, giving blood, etc. You must be new in the religion.

Just what some on the Right would expect, I will say it: Communists in our government officials is nothing more than a fringe groupie's wet dream. Baseless and absurd but ever so exciting and warm.

Instead of running off at the mouth with just your opinion, why not for a change prove that there are no communists in DC and while your at it work on a list of members of the obozos senate that don't have communist ties. That should be easier for you as it would be a short list.

Well so much for your wet dream....

Communists in Congress? Just count 'em

http://www.wnd.com/2013/08/communists-in-congress-just-count-em/

And there are 6,210,000 reports in here.

Did you see that group play in Ebbets Field? I saw all of them in a double header with the Cardinals on a Sunday. My favorite memory of that weekend was Don Newcombe pinch hitting on Saturday. The crowd went wild when he came to the plate and he singled in return. Those guys did play for love of the game and not just for money.

Hey, I just thought about my favorite movie of all time, "For Love of the Game". Have you seen that thing?

Joe Macarthy was absolutely right when commies were relatively few in #, now our common culture is quite Marxist & commies are not just infiltrated in the gov but imbedded. Major examples are Valery Jerret, David Axelrod. & Erick Holder. If you doubt this, you know very little about them, their history & family history & probably don't understand how far left a progressive has to be to qualify as a Communist. And also you don't get that Obama is also both an Anticolonial Communist & a Muslim just like his father & you need to do some serious research. Start with the youtube videos "Obama the one video" & "Obama's Ring" These vids will make the beginning of your research quick, simple, & mind blowing.
