Well now, it seems that the AFL-CIO is throwing many Democrat Senators to the wolves as far as support is concerned. One would have to wonder if they are willing to support Obama any more from the way they are running from Democrat Senators who are having to run next fall with Obamacare hanging over their heads.

The AFL-CIO, like any organization has to marshal its resources for where they will do the most good. It's the same approach as presidential campaigns that choose to focus on the swing states. Obviously they can be more effective if they don't waste their money on lost causes.

And I'm wondering if their union workers are finally finding out they have been lied to by the president and the democrat's also. Could be they are tightening their wallets and their votes.

As with most elections Union workers are forced to choose and support the candidate or party that causes them the most good and least harm. while the Democrats are not as helpfull to working family's as they have been in the past the republicans have attacked policy's that help working family's and have been at war with labor for years.

No not for the candidate or party. With the union it is all about them, the union leaders and hierarchy. The working man or women has no choice. They pay the union dues and have no say in the choice of party or candidate that are voted for. The unions at one time in our history served a purpose. They did work for the common man. Now its for the leaders and the hierarchy. Yes I was a union member once long ago.

I belonged to the NEA many years ago and had to leave them when they admitted to being a union. They had to do that because other unions were pushing them out. I got out of that bunch almost exactly 38 years ago when they gave money to Jimmy Carter to campaign with and some of it was mine and they didn't ask us for permission. You must have had the same experience with unions I did.

Pretty much so. I just have a problem with anyone who says they have my best interest in with what they do, without my input.

i wonder if the members are tired of paying over a 100$ a month for the right to work because they dont get anything else for their money.

Brian: You know what you meant to say: The AFL-CIO, like any organization has to marshal its resources for where they will do the most damage to business. Isn"t it ironic that all the swing states do not have voter ID laws?

Laws in most states say that the unions can't spend money without the members giving their assent, and yet they do it all the time and the workers just sit back and take it. My share of the over $4 million they gave to Carter for his promise to create a Department of Education that they could control was all of $4.65 but I demanded it back and then dropped out.

I guess it isn't only workers that unions and blacks are against voter ID cards for. I wonder just why that is.
