Growing up with a hardcore right winger as a dad that one doesn't fly. I observed some of the most idiotic things come out of nowhere anyone could explain. Logic had little traction as pertained to how things were going to be. Once an idea got into his head it was very difficult to change.

Quite frankly he seemed to be deeply opposed to someone being right about something he was in opposition to, it offended his ego.
