Then why doesn't anyone do anything about this guy?

When New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez had her aides call to schedule a hair appointment, hair stylist Antonio Darden refused. He explained to a local TV station, "Because of her stances and her views on [same-sex marriage], I told her aides no. They called the next day, asking if I'd changed my mind about taking the governor in and I said no." Darden himself is homosexual. So evidently when a photographer doesn't want to take pictures of a same-sex commitment ceremony in New Mexico, that's punishable discrimination. When a homosexual does the same thing, however, it's just fine. If it weren't for double standards, leftists wouldn't have any.

When you brought this up earlier, I had a problem with it. I'm consistent. You are trying to pick and choose.

I will send you a PM on the story. Yes, there are differences in Jew, I am from what you say orthodox. We have our services in the morning. Although this is not an orthodox, it will help you in seeing and understanding some of what you can expect to see. This video is more of the middle of the road. http://www.interfaithfamily.com/spirituality/synagogue/What_To_Expect_At_A_Synagogue_-_Video.shtml

Again being ignorant I have heard that there are various sects of Jewish people much like different denominations within the Christian community. I have heard of the reformed Jewish synagogue and I believe that there are two more distinct groups or belief systems like and I am using my words here the more devout or conservative Jews and then there is a middle of the road group as well. I also understand that all synagogues meet on Saturday or the last day of the week. Are they more likely to meet in the morning or are there differing times for their meetings. Also unless the meaning of the story is forbidden to be told I would really like to hear the true meaning to the story. I also feel that so much has been lost to the Christian community by not teaching Hebrew and our joint heritages as well as a more universal and compatible existence between the two. Who knows.

Thank you very much ginnyt this was both informative as well as enlightening. I presume that all males have to wear the headpiece on there head. I will look forward to the other. I am patiently waiting for the weather to warm here as we just had snow last Saturday night and some last night with more expected tonight. I will be so happy when winter finally leaves and spring returns. Oh wait according to the liberals we are in global warming what could be wrong with me to think that below zero is cold and not warm.

You are entirely welcome. Keep in mind that this was not an orthodox, but middle of the road. Most things are the same, but there are some differences. Go, you will be glad you did. Yes, all men cover their heads.

Global warming, do you not know that term is not PC anymore? It is now "climate change" as though that has not been happening on earth for the past few million years! Bundle up, stay warm.

Thank you and I am waiting to see the answer to the story you have intrigued me with it.

ginny, the types of discrimination mentioned here appear to pertain only to the Canadian federal government. I don't see any restrictions on private businesses in this quote. So I guess, yes, we are back to square one.

Well maybe this is the answer to such a truly interesting question. That our gov be that local state or fed should be held to a standard that does not discrimate based on race religion or gender. But as individuals you have the right to practice your believes as you see fit.

Exactly, and that's the argument that's usually made in cases like this to distinguish between the responsibility of a government entity and a private business. An entity which is paid by the taxpayers has a responsibility to forgo personal feelings and serve everyone because it's public, whereas a private business owner should have no such obligation in my opinion.

I live in Alabama, we tried not serving blacks, but it was disallowed to discriminate by law.

Yes, that's the exception to the rule. Racial discrimination is prohibited even in a private business under the federal civil rights law.

I see a pattern here. I know most of you think its different, but its not.
Let's find a way to treat people differently. I'm sure that people in the south were offended because they had do deal with blacks, so much so that they found biblical reasons to discriminate. It was wrong then and its still wrong now.

Here's a case of what you might call reverse discrimination:

Its not reverse discrimination, its straight forward discrimination. I'm, against that, too, as I've said three times already. One discrimination doesn't make it ok to do it again.

I have been wondering if any people here have seen the signs on food suppliers' doors in Kansas. The message is "No shirt, No Shoes, No Service. That has always seemed a bit discriminatory to me since many young people just don't wear those articles of clothing during the summer months. State law says that is ok since it has to do with germs in the business place.
