Everyone has a slightly different opinion, that's human nature but some of the opinions on here (and other boards) are for shock value and shock value only.

I believe that most of my intemperate postings have been in response to personal attacks, either on me or someone else. It's called sugar for sugar and salt for salt. I have not said anything on this forum I would not say face to face, but I have never been a font of tact and diplomacy either. When an opinion that conflicts with mine is presented in a thoughtful manner, I give it due consideration. Once or twice, I have had to admit that I was in need of correction. Civil conversation is the basis of debate. Debate is argument with rules. Break the rules, and it becomes mud-slinging.

I think some posters report others to be vindictive because they can't handle what we say. The snitches are sissys who can dish it out but can't take it.

I generally keep my cool when I get in a disagreement with another poster, but I have to admit I totally lost it about a week ago and actually told this other person to go f* himself. I have to be pushed pretty far to do that, and I was. I didn't even get a warning, so I guess I should consider myself lucky. On the other hand I've been kicked off of two other forums for a lot less, one of which to this day has never given me an explanation. Go figure.

Everyone has a slightly different anal opening, also. Most are reasonably circumspect about revealing them without provocation.

As for Floyd's gun concern, if you have unregistered gun-gun's that's the individuals problem and if your caught good.

Well I have not heard that people that have had guns for a while have to take them to be registered.

All the talk I have heard is that the buying & selling of them needs to be registered.

In that light I said that keep your guns & don't go around telling the world that you have them & what you are going to do with them. Like bmac I will not be there to help you.

Most of the fear about gun control comes because people don't want to have their guns registered.
They don't want to be on a list that leads people to know where to find the guns.

Shouting that you have guns & how you will use them in the way some people on this site say they will just draws attention to them self & their guns. This raises interest in greater gun control on every one.

I feel sure that the NRA has a list of gun owners & that list is almost as good to show who has guns as a government list would be. This could sort of work as the list that some who want to know who has guns.

The more the NRA & gun owners fight the issue the more attention they bring to having more gun control. I am sure a way can be found for the rights to have unregistered guns or to keep your guns unregistered.

But not having guns & not wanting guns means I will live with what ever is decided.

I have little personal fear from people having guns. Some doubt sure. But I have the trust that the vast majority of people with guns will cause no harm to me or others.

So I guess that what I am saying is don't go around saying you have guns & know how to us them & will use them in ways not in the best interest of the public.

From what I see and hear it's those who don't own guns that have the problem with unregistered guns, people that own register.

The issue as I see it is that there are just to many guns available to those that should not have them available to them.

The general public is dismayed by all of the gun violence going on.

Registration by lawful people does little to help. Registration is use as a way to trace guns after the fact & asses blame.

If less guns are made & sold there would be less guns in the hands of those that should not have them.

But there are to many guns out there to make much of a change.

So I say if we are going to really have gun control it has to start with better control over the guns being made & sold.

Over time less guns could be out there. Taking guns from those that misuse them & melting them down would help a lot.

I have been on this forum a little more than a month and have seen quite a bit of unfounded postings . Insults back and forth . I even got a warning from admin. before I could send off a posting from someone using much more filthy hate filled language than myself. We are all Americans including the President. Every opinion is unique to the person. lets state our opinions here. Some where we should have a common goal and that is doing the best we can to be Americans. Fair and believing in equality

You say that each of us has an opinion, and each is unique. Why then is my opinion any less than yours just because I may use some words that you don't like? I don't use profanity, but if my belief is strong enough, and I think you are way out in left field, I am going to say so. If that offends you, than don't participate in the conversations. I have very strong conservatives beliefs, and I will express them without any excuses.

As someone else stated, there are plenty of keyboard Rambos on this forum that really don't supply any real substance to the discussion other than name calling and trash talking. And, I respond vehemently to these, because it is the only language they understand. If you disagree with that, don't participate in the conversation.

There is way to many posters here who add no opinion but to degrade another's.

I am being very general here, but political positions fall into two categories.
1) Those who believe that given enough money and resources the federal government can solve society's ills.
2) Those that feel individual liberty is of primary importance and that the scope of government should be limited.

Was that too simple?

To be fair, there are a few who try to be reasonable and balanced, will actually read an entire posting before going off, but most have forgotten the definition of debate.

Banjo, you may be too normal and too intellectual for this forum. Lots of naysayers here with little or no evidence to back up their postings. NSA will be wasting its time to read most of this stuff. At any rate, this spot allows us to get stuff off of our chests or we could go nuts. We must be able to "LET IT GO." Not much " bothers me anyway."

First off Pete I am in dissagrement with you but you have every right to say your opinions. I know I called you Skoonie. But it was a pet name for a kid I grew up named Alvin Schoonover. If I can't agree with you sometimes I will understand your right to state your opinion any way. Have a good day Pete all the best Tom

Well fortunately that didn't happen here. The other poster than added fuel to the fire by calling me a liberal, which just made me go off even more. I'm sorry if you're a liberal, but that's the one thing which really pushes my button because no one else has a right to assume things about you without having a clue, especially when the assumption is inaccurate. I told him in some very angry words to read my posts before calling me a liberal, which he then did and apologized for his remarks. So it all worked out in the end.
