The difference between a patriot and an "enemy of the State", is whether they love their Country and the flag which represents it.

I say look at the other two & I see haves a lot & have not much.

There are those that say the have a lots are the good guys & the have not much the bad guys.

I don't think the flag really has ant thing to do with it.

But of course I wasn't resting in a hammock when I looked at this issue.

With more thought I think I will put my self down as indifferent. I find my self as being able to get by no matter which of the other two do.

I can not do much personally to help one side or the other but would tend to lean towards giving support to the have littles.

In no way do I ever feel that I am poor.

Even when I had much less than I have now.

I am as much or more a capitalist than many on this site.

I am self employed, have money in the stock market, own rental property. There is a sound roof over my head, food in the refrig & money in the bank for food when ever I am hungry.

I care more for the average person having a little more that for the banks getting more.

I strongly feel that if more people were at least as well off as I am this country would be a stronger country.

What you describe sounds like a marriage. When times are good, money in the bank, things are good, when the cupboards are bare, cracks abound in an awful lot of marriages.

However, don't know what that says about me and my perspective, self-employed still at 66, look at the balance "of books" through my fingers "a lot", but still I see my glass as half-full. Matter of perspective? I can't honestly say, this country of ours, why some of us view this country as a "privilege to live in" and some run around, wringing their hands, sure that the "sky is falling." Oh, lest I forget, enemy of the state? Perish the thought!! However, that still leaves the quandary -- criticize what goes on, an enemy of the state or just want to improve what we have because we don't want to lose it!!

Perhaps the key is contentment, acceptance of what is and deciding it's good enough. NOT to be confused with complacency, which is knowing things are not good, but ignoring them to conserve energy.

There will always be people with more stuff than I have, so what? I am content. Would I like more? Sure I would, but I don't worry about it or spend any great deal of time trying to get it. You can either spend your life happy with what you have, or spend it in misery, because you don't have what you feel is due you. Too bad there's not an APP for that.

Nope, then they would be a "have" and only have to worry about; losing all their money and becoming a "have not" again, someone taking their money and giving it to the other "have nots", spending all their money trying to fit in with the other "haves" and becoming a "have not" again.

I think my mind is more at ease being a "have not". There's nothing for anyone to take. :lol:

You're funny, but yeah, I'm right there with you!! Once upon a time, I was a "have" -- of course, having started as a "have not". Once my initial panic over becoming a "not" again subsided, you're right, freeing. Of course, right at the moment, two of the three vehicles normally working that it takes to keep everything running smoothly at even a "not" level are "not" running. Tomorrow, I will be visiting my oldest son and his "not together" family, who will be coming back together to celebrate Christmas with me -- yep, another "not" exactly on time occasion. I seem to function better on "not". Hmmm. Guess it's a good thing I live in the country, isn't it. :mrgreen: Boy, talk about marching to the tune of a different drummer!! :lol:

Nahhhhh, A drummer with a drum afflicted with multiple personalities -- one personality that plays to the beat of "it's time, it's time, you know!!", and the other that says "so?" -- and I imagine you can guess which one wins more often than not!! :lol: :lol: Now, my husband, when drums were being given out, he got the "broken" drum. :wink: What a pair we make!! However, this morning, I have the one vehicle "not" afflicted packed with Christmas presents (at least one present from (2) Christmas' past, maybe even two presents), and last month's b-day presents for my son, and all before granddaughter Arizona's 7th birthday next month on the 6th!! It would seem that the personalities of the drum are merging somewhat. Hmmm, I think I rather like them the other way!! :roll: :lol:

There is a desire on the part of some that wish there to be large numbers of needy people to chose from to do the work that they wish done.

There are those that are employed by these people & are so thankful for that .

These workers agree to changes in the laws that allow those in power to have even more power over them self & cry they are loosing their freedom to those that have less freedom than they do.
