Normally.. when I vote.. I want the paper ballot... since I am not used to the machines..... but since they didn't have the paper ballots the last time.. I was forced to use the machines... but they have a lady there who will help you work with it.. and Im glad they did... cause I never would have figured it out... since it was all alien to me .... She clicked what I said... and who I wanted.. then she told me to read it over carefully before we went to the next thing on the list.... so a worker can be with someone in those booths if you ask for help... I dont know why they didnt have the paper ballots like they used to... guess it was too time consuming to count them... dunno. Now.. this was Texas voting.. dunno about other states set ups...

George Soros company bought this whole idea of voting machines to the US and also supplied a great deal of them. The only problem is that there is no way to recount the votes because once you pull the lever that ballot is recorded and then vanishes so to speak. They had an investigation before a committee and were questioning how hard it would be to cheat using a voting machine. They had a number of programmers there that told them they could do it and you would never even know it took place because the program would destroy that part that was overwritten when the machine sent its totals in. They said that they could program it to give all votes to Obama or every third vote or every other vote or whatever combination that you desired could be programmed in. I prefer the paper ballots because then you have a record of the voters original intent.

No, one needn't be able to speak English to vote in California, as the ballots are printed in 7 languages, even tagalog.

I live in Texas and have been voting since 1972. I have ALWAYS been asked to present my voter registration AND a photo ID. And I know the county elections supervisor and many of the elections judges personally.

What is ironic, as well as hypocritical is that recently the NAACP require marchers and protesters in North Carolina to have a valid photo ID to participate in the protest/march against that states recently passed voter ID law, requiring a photo ID to vote. Now, the excuse was to have a photo ID on one's person in case they got arrested. Nevertheless, photo IDs were required to protest a photo ID requirement law.

The NAACP bused people in from several states for the protest. It seems to me that if they have the resources to do that, then they could provide the same resources for people to get valid photo IDs and even register to vote. If the claim is valid that X% of people, the poor, elderly,tec do not have photo IDs, which I would doubt in the first place because I do not think you can get any form of government assistance without a photo ID to prove who you are. You can't even get a SS card or passport without one.,

I have to show my card they send me in the mail.. it's a voters' card with my number and the precinct... one time.. I left it here at the house.. so I had to show my dr.. license.. then answer umpteen questions... so I have have to do all this.. why is there such an UPROAR from the mex.. and blacks not wanting to do this..... they're no better than I am... But I guarantee you there was a Mexican man in from of me.. who couldnt speak english... but all he had was a dr.. license... Whooppeeee!!! Texas gives illegals a drivers license... so he used it to VOTE.

Then how do you know that he was an illegal just because he had a DL and couldn't speak english? Texas law does not allow for the issuance of a DL or receive any kind of benefits to undocumented persons. He might have had a work visa (green card) and that would have enabled him to get a Texas DL but not to vote.

Their Dr. license is different than mine... but they were able to vote. Read this and it will tell you more than I can. Especically where it says all they have to show is a DL, state concealed handgun permit, US Military ID or US passport. And they all can get DL's here in this state... This was back in 2011.... below... cant find a more current one

Now we know why Gov. Perry panders to illegal aliens…they can vote in Texas!

According to a recent audit by the Texas Secretary of State’s office, 600,000 registered voters in across the state do not have a valid driver’s license or state issued ID. This should not be surprising since Texas does not require presentation of identification when registering to vote.

At least officially, current Texas law states that those voters who register without ID will be flagged and when they show up to the polls, an elections officer will ask them for proper identification before they can cast a vote. But, acceptable forms of ID include “a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows the name and address of the voter.”

While Texas does not issue driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, it is no secret that under Gov. Rick Perry’s administration, the state has laid-out the welcome mat for those here illegally.

In 2001, Gov. Perry signed into law a measure which allowed illegal aliens who have graduated from Texas high schools in-state tuition at state universities and colleges.

Perry’s actions to subsidize the education costs of illegal aliens have undoubtedly cost taxpaying Texans millions.

In 2010, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board released figures showing that during the 2009 fall semester, more than 12,000 illegal aliens paid in-state tuition rates at state schools throughout Texas. Many of them also received taxpayer-funded financial aid.

While the Texas legislature recently passed a bill sponsored by Sen. Troy Fraser (R-Horseshoe Bay) which requires voters to show valid ID at the polls, such as a driver’s license, state concealed handgun permit, U.S. military ID or a U.S. passport.

However, the law is being held up by the Obama Justice Department. The DOJ claims to be currently reviewing the measure on grounds of possible discrimination against minority voters.

The law would affect at least 10 percent of those registered to vote in 27 of Texas' 254 counties.

"Anyone who tries to argue 'most voters don’t have ID' is a liar, just like the president who said, 'If you like your insurance, you can keep it,'" claimed Wayne Allyn Root. In his Wednesday column, conservative author and Blaze contributor Wayne Allyn Root explained that President Obama's administration was scamming America about voter ID in order to perpetuate Democratic voter fraud during elections.

Root wrote of more than one case similar to the following which he suggests was how Obama beat Romney in the last presidential election:
There were voting precincts in Philly where the combined vote was Obama over Romney by about 30,000 to 0. In those precincts GOP poll watchers were forcibly removed for several hours, until judges ordered them back in. During those hours were the ballot boxes stuffed? Did Democrat voters vote 10 times each? As absurd as 30,000 to 0 is (it’s just statistically impossible), maybe the right vote total was 6,000 to 0.

Calling voter ID a "no brainer," Root pointed out that the Obama administration pounded on voter ID as Republican's way to target race and discourage minorities and the poor from voting, adding that the biggest liberal lie was: "It’s too big a burden for poor and minority voters to obtain ID."

Doing some first-hand research, Root inquired at the office of his personal physician and discovered an astonishing contradiction to the Democrat's claims. The nurses "verified no one can collect their “free” Obamacare services from any doctor without showing ID. And since everyone is now required to have health insurance (or is given free insurance), the government is requiring that EVERYONE have a photo ID."

According to the Washington Times, when Texas's voter ID statue was blocked by a federal judge, the Obama administration applauded the decision. Jay Carney, the White House spokesman reiterated the White House position, saying, "This administration believes it should be easier for eligible citizens to vote, to register and vote." Carney added, “We should not be imposing unnecessary obstacles or barriers to voter participation.”

Following both Carney's and Root's line of reasoning, it's interesting that the Obama administration believes requiring voter ID is an "unnecessary obstacle" to voting but a necessary obstacle to qualify for Medicaid and Obamacare. Now, assuming that everyone must have officially acceptable government ID, why would citizens not be willing to show their ID when they show up at the voting booths? If there is a valid reason, it's time for the Obama administration to explain it so everyone understands.

Root's conclusion was that Democrats' motives were transparent. He claims voter ID is an issue that is causing Democrats untold anxiety because "they can’t win elections without fraud." Still Joseph Biden, Obama's vice president, is out claiming that those who say they need voter ID to protect against voter fraud are "haters."

According to CBS today, "Biden said of the laws in Alabama, North Carolina and Texas, the latter two of which are facing lawsuits by the Justice Department to block their laws that would require showing identification before voting. 'The zealotry of those who wish to limit the franchise cannot be smothered by reason.'"

The voter ID debate begs the question: Who has reason on their side?
