Without any definite plan or direct commitment from Kim, nothing firm on paper and Kim not yet conceding anything, Trump gave his newest dictator a gift: end the mutually needed war exercises for the US and South Korea. Apparently the president has more trust in a confirmed human rights violator than our closest allies. Ever think why? Insult Trudeauand Macron, Merkel and May--and practically tongue-kiss: does that make sense to you?
President Donald Trump's announcement Tuesday that he had agreed to cancel war games in Korea reportedly came as a shock to South Korea and U.S. military leaders. Obviously it was because of his infatuation with the inhumane ruler of NK.
U.S. Forces in Korea "has received no updated guidance on execution or cessation of training exercises," said USFK spokeswoman Lieutenant Colonel Jennifer Lovett, Reuters reported.
Lovett said, as of now, the U.S. military plans to "continue with our current military posture until we receive updated guidance" from the Department of Defense or Indo-Pacific Command. This includes the Ulchi Freedom Guardian joint military exercises scheduled for the fall.

President Trump’s pledge on Tuesday to cancel military exercises on the Korean Peninsula surprised not only allies in South Korea but also the Pentagon.
Hours after Mr. Trump’s announcement in Singapore, American troops in Seoul said they are still moving ahead with a military exercise this fall — Ulchi Freedom Guardian — until they receive guidance otherwise from the chain of command.
Lt. Col. Jennifer Lovett, a United States military spokeswoman in South Korea, said in an email that the American command there “has received no updated guidance on execution or cessation of training exercises — to include this fall’s schedule Ulchi Freedom Guardian.”
“We will continue with our current military posture until we receive updated guidance from the Department of Defense,” she added.

The Pentagon is now working to implement President Donald Trump’s direction that it cancel joint exercises with the Republic of Korea following Trump’s historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
“Under the circumstances, we are negotiating a comprehensive and complete deal [on denuclearization]. It is inappropriate to have war games,” Trump said in a press conference following the summit in Singapore. “Number one, we save money. A lot. Number two, it is really something they very much appreciated.”
In that press conference in Singapore, Trump also said that he would like to withdraw the thousands of U.S. forces stationed on the Korean Peninsula, but would start with cancellation of military exercises.
“I want to get our soldiers out,” Trump said in Singapore. “I want to bring our soldiers back home. We have 32,000 soldiers in South Korea. I would like to be able to bring them back home.”
However the president added that at present, “that’s not part of the equation.”
