Why does your God give us sick and dying babies or children with cancer?
Because in a billion, trillion years from now, when we look back on this *relatively* few seconds of pain and suffering, we’ll still remember what disobeying God can do and its ugly fruit; that yes, our sins don't only affect us, but our offspring as well, and our families and friends and even more.
The fool says in his heart, there is no God.
I’ve got news for you: the ones that die early, who never sinned, will be raised from the dead, and in that billion years to come will remember the atrocity of the sin that snuffed them out. The guiltless will not be judged with the guilty. That is a lie that actually comes from pagan ideas, sometimes imposed on the Bible, but it does not come from the God of the Bible, who said:
“The soul who sins, he shall die: the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be on him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be on him.” (Ezek. 18:20).
So no, the doctrine of "original sin" is not spelled out in the Bible. Jesus said to allow the little children to come to him for of such are the kingdom of God. He was also asked who sinned the child or his parents that he should be born handicapped. Jesus said neither. But that the glory of God could be made known. Some think that's because he healed him. But what about those who didn't get healed? They show the glory of God in the fact that God is true. He told our parents that if they sinned they would bring death upon us. And that is what happened. But death won't "be a thing" forever. Through the son of God, who lived righteous before God, he was able to reverse the curse of sin to those who believe in and obey him. As Peter said, "repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, for the gift is unto you, and your children and as many as God shall call even them that are afar off" Acts 2:38-39. Peter also said that God has given to all men the assurance of eternal life in that he rose Jesus from the dead.
The thing is, God has set a “boundary” for the length of the manifestation of the evil of man’s iniquity. When that boundary is reached, and it is done, evil will be all over. At the same time, he has also given us “space to repent”.
The ones who wake up to this; who see the evil in the world and don’t try to “blame God” but rather realize that they themselves have done evil on their own choice, and then want with all their heart to make things right, these ones will find God, or rather, He will find them. He really found us even when we say we found him because we found that it was He who was calling on our heart’s when we woke up to the evil around us, and called out, “dear God, have mercy on me, a sinner!”
What plan does "your" god, or your religion, or lack thereof have for conquering evil and death? If you don't have a plan that is working, then it is you who are the one satisfied with evil not going away. From all I've witnessed in my 61 years on this earth, the further one gets from God the more evil they become. So why is it you want to draw away from God and blame Him for the evil of mankind? Sounds to me like that would make you part of the problem you are complaining about rather than part of the solution!
