Too few people have a clue of what is going on and until they are educated on how the system is suppose to work we will continue getting what we deserve.

It isn't what we "deserve", it is what the politicians deem is best for us, actually what is best for them. A pox on them.

In essence they did, by telling the unsuspecting 'voters' what they wanted to hear. The 'voters' in turn were too lazy, or incompetent to ascertain the truth, or facts, of what they were being programmed to believe.

Dictators, don't elect themselves either...................................of course, they're the only ones on the ballot!

Stalin used to say that elections weren't important, what was important is, who counts the votes?

I didn't want Romney to run for president, did you?

So who put him on the ballot?

There was a primary, I believe. I did not support Romney, and had there been another viable choice I would have voted for them. Perhaps the good ol'boys have realized that they cannot offer a milquetoast candidate. Or maybe they don't care.

"Said politicans" were chosen by party powers the electorate have no control or little influence over.

Yeah they do. This last Presidential voting process was all wrong. the black and Mexicans voted in Obama, and the Mormons voted Romney as the presidential challenger. Most of the Christian and non religious Caucasian voters took a break and didn't vote at all.
Even if you don't like the Candidates, everyone needs to vote and try to vote for the lesser of the two evils.
'16 will be the Voting Process of History. A big one. The True season of change for America will be in the hands of the Voters on this upcoming one.

"Don't care" would be the answer you seek.

They want only an Establishment Repub to run. No Conservatives are wanted by the Elitist Beltway Establishment.

Makes me want a middle ground that will make guns safer for all. (I've been in the military and have used guns al my life. But, 30,000 plus gun deaths each year in this country means we don't really care about life.) See the dilemma.
Its a problem that we need to solve. And misquoting the constitution about the second amendment wont get us there.
Personally I think the allowing guns under certain conditions would be the best compromise. But some people don't even want to compromise.
What can you do????

Skott, I don't agree with you about guns, now we need them more than ever, guns do make people safer,if some thugs breaks into your home armed and ready to use it what are you going to do? throw something at them? I know what I would do they would not like it.

That's true Ed. Although where I disagree is that our constitution was designed to be a living document, not to stay in our colony/agricultural past. The founding fathers did plan this.

An interesting notion. Where in the writings of any of the Founders did you learn this?
