I know republicans who don't personally approve of abortion, but feel the choice is up to each individual, I know no dems who don't agree with freedom of choice. And I know a fair number of people who are apolitical who don't give a damn.

If you or your partner choose to have an abortion I'm all for your being able to safely and under controlled conditions have it. The only thing I ask is that YOU or your insurance company pay for it. I don't see why my tax dollar or even a cent should go to pay for something you WANT. I do take into consideration the life of the woman but where were you when at 54 I had a heart attack? Why couldn't I tap you to help pay that bill off and the follow up that goes on even today.

If the left got what they want your heart attack would have cost you nothing but our basic healthcare insurance costs.
The right doesn't want abortions no matter who pays for them. And they are strangling women's healthcare centers even though abortions is a fraction of what they do. Federal law prohibits federal funds from paying for abortions anyway, the funds come from elsewhere. Hell, the hard right doesn't even want birth control paid for, which is about the most idiotic thing imaginable to oppose the thing that prevents unwanted pregnancies.
