Good enough. I'm riding myself from all the opioids that I've been taking because I want to tell the doctors at the pain clinic I've been going to, to fuk off. I've been off hydrocodone for a month and the patch I've been wearing for a week and the pain has increased but it's manageable. I figure I have 20 years left and if I have to do it dependent on hydrocodone and asshole doctors then I would rather eat a bullet. Of course that would mean I would have to go buy a gun...yikes....

And I've got news for you Pete...based on the way things are going I'm willing to say we have much less than 20 years. But just think, 20 more years and then your off to nothingness. That's one helluva thing to look forward to. Me personally, I'm REALLY looking forward to spending ETERNITY in my perfect and glorified body with my Lord and Savior and my brothers and sisters in Christ, many of whom you mock and ridicule on OPP.

I have had a little taste of that bullet. It has been 17 years since I quit opiods, except for acute surgical conditions, as pain with a clear head is preferable to pain and mental obtundation! The assholess in the pain clinic were angry and confused that my refusal of drugs left them clueless as to how to manage my pain otherwise. They refused to cooperate with my medical use of THC, and dismissed me as non compliant after the third urine test showing positive for THC. I had had no prescriptions filled for three months past so there was no way they could "control" me by threatening to cut me off, but they threatened anyway. Their loss, I'm better for it. I took pleasure in waiting another three months for my case to be processed out (never understood what that was about...) then ordering 10 pizzas delivered to clients in waiting rooms and one to staff as I personally read an effusive letter of praise for their rescue of my life from the misery of drug addiction....

I found meditation and self hypnosis quite useful, as well as setting a challenging reading list. Life is full of pain. The rest is gravy. I try to focus on the gravy.

And sometimes, I whine a bit.

Time for what? I could never convert with any sincerity so if there is a god I'm pretty sure he could see through my pretense. And I came from nothingness and I don't remember it as being all that bad so why would returning to it be any worse?

Been there and done that. I hate taking medicine especially hydrocodone. I prefer to keep my mind clear and I have a high threshold for pain .

Several times while in the hospital my home was broken into and the only thing missing was my hydrocodone. MY gun safe wasn't touched.

My problem is that the opioids simply stopped working so the clinics next step was going to be an implant that I had two doctors tell me wouldn't work with my type of pain. Instead I'm going to try a by-pass around a blockage in the lower part of my aorta where it branches into my legs. They think the increased blood flow will help. I'm not holding out hope and if not I'm resigned to making a go with what I have now. I have one more appointment at the pain clinic an that is just so I can tell them to flip off...

Never give up on hope. Doctors are much more advanced in the past twenty years or more with new procedures that are amazing.
