Not Republican, but Trumpian - secure the southern border and overhaul the entire broken immigration system.

You might as well throw in Barack Obama and Bill Clinton as well neither of them volunteered either. I am sure many from both persuasions both democrat as well as republican pulled strings so to single out one is ludicrous.

True enough, Bahmer, except for the fact that President Trump has mocked and ridiculed Viet Nam Vets and POWs with past public statements and actions or lack of actions. His perceived allegiance to Veterans only became apparent when he ran for the presidency. Besides, the motivation behind my post was the fact of drlarrygino's questioning the validity of Permafrost's USMC 'Nam service. I have every reason to believe my fellow Marine, and it irritates me that so many challenge the validity of one's service and/or patriotism based simply on a difference in political perspectives. Permafrost and I have often differed on matters, but that does not detract from our respect for each other's service in a war that saw its Veterans disrespected not only during and directly after it ended, but to this day for unwarranted reasons. I stand behind every Veteran's especially-earned right to voice their opinion, whether in agreement with mine/others or not. We did not stand and fight with our brother's-in-arms against enemies overseas only to come home and still find ourselves fighting...but, instead, with each other.

I will add that Permafrost has repeatedly addressed and voiced his thoughts towards former Presidents Clinton's & Obama's lack of service.

Fair enough having not been able to join and of course having not served I was unaware of Trumps negative comments regarding Viet Nams vets. I can also see where those of you that did serve over there are way more aware of various statements made by political figures than I would be. I didn't mean to offend those of you that served and was rising to defend the president is all. Sorry if it offended anyone.

Stern responded, "I even went as far to say that you're braver than any Vietnam vet because you're out there screwing a lot of women."
"Getting the Congressional Medal of Honor, in actuality," said Trump.
Later in the interview Trump and Stern again compared avoiding STDs to Vietnam.

"I'm having a good time, but Howard, you know the one negative: It's very, very dangerous out there," said Trump.
"Yes it is, it's your Vietnam," added Stern.
"It's Vietnam," added Trump. "It is very dangerous. So I'm very, very careful."

My friend, you did not necessarily offend so much as you touched on a sensitive subject for me. I interact with Veterans, 'Nam or otherwise almost daily, to include those local and friends from our war all across the country. I stay in touch with them via e-mail and phone. Whenever I travel cross-country, I make efforts to see them for at least a brief visit...if not longer. Viet Nam Vets, like so many other groups, are not a monolithic block in that we all think alike...whether politically, religiously or ideologically. The bond we have with one another allows our differences to exist without affecting relationships long-ago bonded in battle. Our allegiance to one another is intangible, but lasting.

The datacenter where we host our servers had an outage due to a fiber cut somewhere in the Dallas area. (At least that's the preliminary info.)

That resulted in connectivity loss and so the servers were inaccessible for several hours.

Sorry for any inconvenience and for the worn out refresh button. Hopefully, they have fixed it for good.

I have been very pissed today since I was typing merrily away and getting along fine but sometime before noon I wasn't able to post for some time and then couldn't even get on here. I have had many things I wanted to get started but have had to sit on them for too long. I wish there was some way for our mods to communicate with us to tell us what is going on. On many other forums I have seen that happening and appreciated it.

The Constitution says he can't have a third term but he and you don't like to read the Constitution, do you? Do you have any idea who all wants to get the Democrat nomination? Moochelle can't be nominated either. Your many are those who supported Bammy but none of us want her.l

Really??? What is your favorite republican "people" centered policy???

I guess my favorite Republican people centered policy has been their consistent stated desire to stay the Hell out of the lives of individual Americans. That opens the door to meaningful personal freedom and opportunity. My second favorite policy is their stated belief that a person is entitled to what he earns. That opens the door to take advantage of the presented opportunities.

I'll admit that they don't always hold to those political ideals but at least they do work towards them... most of the time. I would rather starve as a free man than feast at the table of government largess. If you think those are just words, my life is witness to my sincerity.
