Jesus once said that it was his mission not to sow peace but discord, turn families against each other. Do you think that is truly what he meant?
Jesus’ words must be understood as a figure of speech in which the visible results of His coming are stated as the apparent purpose of His coming. He says He did not come to bring peace but a sword. Actually He did come to make peace (Ephesians 2:14-17); He came that the world might be saved through Him (John 3:17).
But the point here is that whenever individuals became His followers, their families would turn against them. A converted father would be opposed by his unbelieving son, a Christian mother by her unsaved daughter. A born again mother-in-law would be hated by her unregenerate daughter-in-law. So a choice must often be made between Christ and family. No ties of nature can be allowed to deflect a disciple from utter allegiance to the Lord. The Savior must take precedence over father, mother, son or daughter. One of the costs of discipleship is to experience tension, strife, and alienation from one's own family. This hostility is often more bitter than is encountered in other areas of life.
But there is something even more apt to rob Christ of His rightful place than family—that is, the love of one's own life. So Jesus added, "And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me." The cross, of course, was a means of execution. To take the cross and follow Christ means to live in such devoted abandonment to Him that even death itself is not too high a price to pay. Not all disciples are required to lay down their lives for the Lord, but all are called on to value Him so highly that they do not count their lives precious to themselves.

Jesus did die for our sins but that is only the beginning for us, a new beginning but still a beginning. To fully appreciate Jesus, we must go out & commit ourselves to follow His words and guidance as we pursue our lives. If you simply believe in Jesus' sacrifice as the source of our salvation, then you open the door to go out and live your life in sin & screw your fellow man. Sorry, it doesn't wash.
If you’re truly saved in your heart, it doesn’t mean that you’re no longer a sinner. Positionally, you are saved, but practically you’ll still sin and be working out your salvation for the rest of your life because your body is not redeemed, which won’t happen until the Rapture of the Church. It’s a constant battle because it’s easy to be “in the flesh” but it doesn’t change that you’re still saved. The only way you’ll “get better” is through the Word, faith, and fellowship.

As far as purgatory goes, do you think that any of the Satans of the 20th century, Hitler, Mao or Stalin, should immediately take a place alongside Mother Teresa or Billy Graham if they asked for forgiveness at their hours of death?
Not my rules but God’s. You can be the worst person (actually we ALL are) in the world and as long as we claim salvation by faith of the atoning death of Jesus Christ that person is as Paul said, “a new creature.” So if the “Satans” of the 20th century did that before they died, they were saved.

And BTW, check your Bible and provide us with the specific passage that says we have a Holy Trinity.
You “read” the Bible and you make the claim. The burden is on you to prove it. The Bible is replete with mentions of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Why don’t you pick it up, read it, and learn more about Them.

What does being saved and covered by the blood of Christ truly mean? Try a practical answer.
Per the Old Testament, there can be no remission of sins without the shedding of blood. We have all sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23). Jesus shed His blood when he died as a substitute for us on the cross. When we accept Jesus as our savior by what he did for us on the cross, the shedding of His blood acts as atonement for our sins, hence “being covered by the blood of Jesus” and being saved.
You want to know how to be saved? Five simple steps:
1. Admit you are a sinner –
Romans 3:23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
2. Understand that as a sinner, you will die –
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
3. Believe that Jesus died on the cross and was raised from the dead to save you from sin and death –
Romans 10:9-11; 13 9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”…
13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
4. Receive, in faith through Jesus, his free gift of salvation –
Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
5. Repent by turning from your old life of sin to a new life in Jesus –
Acts 3:19 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out…
