Slap stick comedy was done from time began, does that mean that people no longer laugh when they see it?
Fairy tales were told from beginning of time to scare kids, does that mean that they have lost their punch?

Point is, does it matter when man on the street interviews started? The thing is, these people were stupidly funny and uninformed.

These kind of man-on-the-street interviews go back to the 1950s. Steve Allen pioneered this "art" form. The producers of the late night shows, collect numerous responses, then carefully cherry pick the most illiterate answers. Jay Leno did this in his segment, "Jay Walking".
