I let them know I had a gun once they were in the house and they challenged me and said, No you dont have a gun. So thats when I shot off the first round. I wasnt feeling anything at the moment, I got scared afterwards.

I say good for her!

Good for her on 2 counts. She fired 2 shots an got rid of the intruders, and she didn't kill them. I don't believe any jury would have convicted her if she had (even if it had gone to a jury) but she would have had to live with the knowledge that she took a life, That might have been difficult.

Good Detroit Mom, the only mistake was, you should have unloaded on them. This is the very reason why we Americans should never givein to gun control. If that Detroit mom wouldn't have had a gun, she would've been raped and murdered by those thug. I wouldn't think twice about filling their butts with buck shots. If they break in to your home, shoot, then take names.

It's too bad she fired a warning shot. The time lost doing that could have cost her a child's life. She should have shot to kill if possible . Even if she missed and only scared them off, she would have made an honest effort and no worse off.
