Unemployed White Men And Women Need Not Apply
By Pittsburgh Tribune-Review (PA) February 20, 2014 6:55 am

WASHINGTON -- President Obama is planning to introduce an initiative with specific targets: African-American and Hispanic men who have disproportionate rates of unemployment.
Under the "My Brother's Keeper" program, foundations, businesses and community groups would develop plans to help men of color at particularly vulnerable times of their lives, administration officials said.
In previewing the initiative during last month's State of the Union address, Obama said, "I'm reaching out to some of America's leading foundations and corporations on a new initiative to help more young men of color facing tough odds stay on track and reach their full potential."
Obama had planned to hold a White House event last week to officially present the project, but it has been postponed because of bad weather.
Among the challenges faced by the "My Brother's Keeper" program: The jobless rate for black men older than 20 in January was 12 percent, compared with 6.6 percent for the nation as a whole.
For Hispanic men older than 20, the jobless rate last month was 8.2 percent.
For younger blacks and Hispanics, unemployment rates are even higher.
One model for the new effort is a mentoring program in Chicago called "Becoming A Man," which encourages young men to develop education and job training goals.
In a meeting with Obama a year ago, members of the BAM program talked about problems with gangs, drugs, gun violence and substandard schools in their neighborhoods, and how so many young people are at risk for lives of crime, poverty or early death.
Speaking after that meeting, the nation's first African-American president, who grew up with an absent father, said he told the group, "I had issues, too, when I was their age. I just had an environment that was a little more forgiving."
Just as individuals have to change their approach and behavior, Obama said, "that's what it takes for communities to change. That's what it takes for countries to change. It's not easy."
Young men in the BAM program are expected to attend the White House ceremony whenever it is re-scheduled.
Two Obama administration officials discussed the "My Brother's Keeper" program on condition of anonymity so as not to pre-empt Obama's announcement.

So now we are catering to two ethnicities in all of the US and everybody else is shit out of luck. Is this saying then that every other ethnic group is then superior to the other two or that we are showing favoritism to just those two. Sort of like affirmative action?

It looks like Obama is endorsing going back to the "Quota System" in spades. This has always been unconstitutional. Now there are laws make discrimination of anyone for any reason illegal.
Why would the President endorse an illegal activity? Let me guess, could it be to get more votes for the party? YES.

I was thinking along the same lines, wasn't affirmative action repealed as unconstitutional? It simply is reverse discrimination.

Another one! Gee they are already given preferential treatment!! Enough. Let people get jobs or be promoted on their own merit--DO AWAY WITH DISCRIMINATON, treat everyone exactly the same. If you are qualified and make a good impression on your interviewer then you get the job. Simple, no black or brown biasedness that is imposed by yet another government mandated policy!

Its bigger than that. Poor people are easier to control and destroying the economy, dollar and the country is the best way to do that. There has not been one thing obomber has done that has ever been positive for this country. I used to just think he was stupid but the odds are against that and more that his destruction is intentional.

He is not stupid. All his actions are directed and intentional and working exactly like he wanted. To divide the country and take down the greatest nation on earth.

I, as a daily labor employer see that these unployed blacks and papered Hispanics make as much as a white worker and are not on the roles so their numbers are against the true count. So the unemployment figures are grossly exaggerated to fit their bill. Go to any labor corner and you will see.

Where are all of liberal groups with attorneys in tow suing the pants off of Obama. For all of the other high unemployment minorities, native Americans comes to mind.

Discrimination huh? You bet it is! Ever since Obullshit trashed the economy I've been unable to get anything that comes close to a 'regular' job. In spite of my numerous skills, an excellent resume, and rock solid work ethic I have repeatedly been denied employment because of my age; 58 to be exact. As a result, I've been stuck in a dead end minimum 'temp service' job since 2011. I am in no way a racist, but at the local 'temp service' easily 80% of the so called employees are young black guys with zero skills and criminal felonies that prevent them from finding of gainful employment of any kind. When given a 'daily assignment they act as though they are being discriminated against when they get chased off the job sites for doing little or no work, constantly talking on the phone when they should be working, and complaining that they are getting 'done wrong'. When I am given an assignment they cry discrimination because a 'white guy' was sent to replace them.
Once again, either a person is going to work when assigned or screw off. Race has nothing to do with it; it's just plain laziness and whining.

Turn the tables, sue the companies for age discrimination. You are over 50 and if you can prove they hired a less qualified person that is younger, you have a case. When you file, be sure to add in income you would have earned if you had been given equal consideration. Also, file for the anguish it has caused. Make a big deal of it, involve the news papers; even if you have to buy advertisement space, go to EOT of the company and show your evidence. Fair is fair.
